The basement of our building covers 10ft. So we will need to provide mat
foundation below the basement at a depth of (31-10) = 21ft which is not at all
suitable.
The cost will be huge to bear to provide mat foundation below the basement
at 21 ft.

The bearing capacity of the soil is not adequate and there are layers of high
bearing capacity of soil deep down which is located at 24 m. So it will be
convenient to use pile foundation at this depth.
In case of designing shallow foundation, the soil report shows lower bearing
capacity in upper layer of the soil and could occur uneven settlement.
To attain the stability of the structure pile foundation is suggested.
In case of mat foundation the required depth is 31ft which is not appropriate
to adopt in terms of cost and depth.
