RFD. FIU was on scene at the location for a previous, unrelated incident that evening (intentional fire involving clothing on the sidewalk) when they noticed theifie inside the structure. Following suppression efforts, it was determined that 4 victims were trapped inside and perished. An additional 5 victims were taken to the hospital for injuries sustained during the fire. Fire investigation determined that the fire originated in the corner of the front bedroom (which was occupied by one of the survivors). Laboratory results of samples from this area have come back negative.
