This document contains all the necessary
instructions to print Deer&Doe
PDF patterns at home.

SELECTING AND OPENING FILES

Your pdf pattern consists of
several files.

Refer to PATTERN-NAME-Read-
Me.pdf for a detailed description
of each file, and to find out which
file(s) to print for the version you
want to make.

Open these files with a pdf reader.

To access all the features, you’ll
need one that can handle layered
pdf files and page sizing properly.
We recommend using Adobe
Acrobat Reader for an optimal
experience.

Be careful not to open the files in

your web browser!
USING SIZE LAYERS
Deer&Doe patterns are multi-size, but layers for the sizes you don’t want to
you can choose to print only the sizes you print. Do not uncheck the “PDF” and
need. “Labels” layers.
To do so, click on the layers icon on the
left of the document, then uncheck the
CHECKING THE PRINT SCALE
To check that your print settings are
correct, click on File > Print… or on the
printer icon in the toolbar.
In the window that pops up, select
Measure the test square situated in the
text box: it should be 2’’ (or 5 cm) in both
dimensions.
Once you’ve checked the scale, you
can print the whole set of pages: in the
Pages: 1 in the “Pages to print” section,
and Actual size in the “Page Sizing &
Handling” section.
Print the first page.
printing settings, select All under the
“Pages to print” section, and make sure
the sizing is still set to Actual size.
ASSEMBLING THE PATTERN

Assembling the pattern is done from left

is identified by a letter and a number, B

Two methods can be used to put the
pattern together: cut-and-tape, or
overlap. D

METHOD 1: CUT-AND-TAPE

Cut the top and left margins off each Tape the pages together following the

Tape the pages together following the
assembly order, overlapping the pages
so that the frame lines coincide (use the
paper’s transparency to make sure).

THIRD PARTY PRINTING
Excerpt from our Terms and Conditions

cannot be held responsible for any
modification made to Virtual products
after their purchase, in particular by any
printing or reprographics company used
by the Client (including, but not limited
to: optimization of the pattern sheet,
changes to the printing scale, changes to
the size, direction, or appearance of the
pattern pieces, changes to the position
or size of the labels or information block,
mirroring of pattern elements, addition of
the printing company’s information to the
pattern sheets).”
With a fine-point pen, complete the
broken lines on the pages’ edges.
If you wish to have your pattern printed
by a third party, we recommend checking
with your printer that the printed sheet
is at the proper scale, contains all the
pattern pieces, and conforms to your
expectations.
All our virtual products are available in
read-only mode, and are restricted for
writing/modifications. We encourage
you to check that your printer can work
with read-only files before making any
payment.
