LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS 8
NAME: JONNA T. ADO
DATE: August 24, 2022
WEEK NUMBER Week one (1)
GRADING PERIOD First Grading Period
CONTENT STANDARD Demonstrates understanding of key concepts of factors of
polynomial, rational algebraic expressions, linear equations
and inequalities in two variables, systems of linear equations
and inequalities in two variables and linear functions.
PERFORMANCE STANDARD The learner is able to formulate real-life problems involving
factors of polynomials, rational algebraic expressions, linear
equations and inequalities in two variables and linear functions
and solve these problems accurately using a variety of
strategies.
MOST ESSENTIAL LEARNING Factors completely different types of polynomials (polynomials
COMPETENCY with common monomial factor, difference of two squares, sum
(CODE) and difference of two cubes, perfect square trinomials and
general trinomials). M8GAL-Ia-b-1

I. OBJECTIVES At the end of 60-minute session the learner will be able to:
-know the square and cube of a number from 1 to 20.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

MATERIALS Laptop, LAS materials, book, LED TV
LEARNERS MANUAL PAGES p. 27-33
TEACHERS MANUAL PAGES
CURRICULUM GUIDE PAGES p. MELCS (p. 230) , BEC guide (page 86)
III. PROCEDURE
A. PRE-ACTIVITY Prayer, Checking of Attendance
- Motivation
a. ACTIVITY - SQUARE ME IN.

b. ANALYSIS
-How do we square a number? Cube?

c. ABSTRACTION - SQUARE AND CUBE OF NUMBERS 1 TO 20.

d. APPLICATION Finding the square and cube of a number is a pre requisite

knowledge in factoring a polynomial.

IV. ASSESSMENT -What are the square of number 1 to 20?

-what are the cube of numbers 1 to 20?

V. AGREEMENT - know that the square and cubes of numbers 1 to 20 are the
numbers that can be extracted to get the perfect square or
perfect cube numbers.

REFLECTION/NOTE: -students do need to give additional tasks and review of their

fundamentals before proceeding to the topic since they almost do not
know the basic on Mathematics.
