GRP REBAR
The Stronger, Lighter, and More Durable Option
APPLICATIONS OF
REBAR
• Uses in concrete requiring low conductivity
• Concrete near harsh and humid environments Self-Drilling Rock Bolts “Big D” Rock Bolts
BENEFITS
• 100% Protection against Corrosion = long life
• High tensile Strength
• Light in weight = fast construction Hollow Rock Bolts Accessories
• Low labour cost
See our GRP Rebar uses the guide for scheduling,
• Transportation advantages

The length equations for shape codes 47, 51 and 63 are for when dimensions C and D are to be minimised
'+ max(14 d, 150)' means add the greater value of either 14 d or 150mm

or abbreviation shall be used in scheduling.
A dimensioned sketch shall be drawn over the dimension columns A to E. Every dimension shall be
specified and the dimension that is to allow for permissible deviations shall be indicated in parenthesis,
otherwise the fabricator is free to choose which dimension shall allow for tolerance.

Hartlepool and Whitby Bay Sea Defence Wall 2015-2019
CASE STUDY
Product Supplied: 10mm Re-bar Mesh Panels
Our customer was contracted to manufacture and
supply 4,000 GRP reinforced concrete decorated
panels, for which Engineered Composites
supplied them with GRP Re-bar mesh panels.
This was for the new Sea Defence wall at
Hartlepool Headland, that was part of a £9M
coastal erosion programme by the Hartlepool
Borough Council, created to protect and
strengthen the current 100-year-old sea wall.
Why GRP?
GRP was chosen over the traditional steel reinforcement mesh due to its many advantages,
but particularly because of its resistance against salt water corrosion. The sea wall required a
life expectancy of 200 years, and the use of GRP will help to meet this expectation.
Blackpool Tram Link - November 2018
CASE STUDY
Why GRP?
There is a section of the track slab in which the use of steel reinforcement was not permissible
within the area of the track circuit detection and signalling system and switch point area.
The requirement to construct the switch point equipment within a “metal-free area” means
GRP Rebar was the go to choice when traditional steel reinforcement is not permitted.
