Description of C_SIM_AD

Type/Number
Module name: C_SIM_AD
Module no.: FB1035

Calling OBs
C_SIM_AD must be called in OB1 (MAIN_TASK).

Function
The SIMOCODE Adapter block C_SIM_AD can be used to establish a connection between the
CEMAT blocks and the SIMOCODE. Due to the modular concept the SIMOCODE Adapter
block can be used for unidirectional drives, bi-directional drives, valves and dampers.
The 12 possible input signals of the SIMOCODE will be transferred to a block output and can be
used individually (e. g. for Local Switch or ESB).
Additionally to the functions of C_SIMO_A, with C_SIM_AD the Motor Power can be displayed.
The current value in Amps and the Power (if enabled) in kW are shown in a curve window.

Basic type 1 and 2 are supported.

- Basic type 1: (10 bytes read and 4 byte write) (with Current- and Power Value)
- Basic type 2: (4 bytes read and 2 byte write) (with Current Value only)

The SIMOCODE adapter block is open (no KNOW_HOW_PROTECT) and you can modify the
block according to your requirements.

Important: In general, no warranty can be given for changes of the block, because this is
! entirely the responsibility of the user. It is always recommended to make a backup of the block
before proceeding.

Reference Manual Objects SIMOCODE Adapter C_SIM_AD

Basic Type 1 and 2, Acyclic Signaling data

With the C_SIM_AD Adapter it possible to read, in addition to the cyclic data, two bytes
acyclic data. This function needs to be enabled due to an interface flag (refer to the
description below). The meaning of the acyclic signaling bits is free assignable.

Acyclic Read Byte 0

Bit Signal
0.0 Acyclic Receive Bit 0.0 (free assignable)
0.1 Acyclic Receive Bit 0.1 (free assignable)
0.2 Acyclic Receive Bit 0.2 (free assignable)
0.3 Acyclic Receive Bit 0.3 (free assignable)
0.4 Acyclic Receive Bit 0.4 (free assignable)
0.5 Acyclic Receive Bit 0.5 (free assignable)
0.6 Acyclic Receive Bit 0.6 (free assignable)
0.7 Acyclic Receive Bit 0.7 (free assignable)

Acyclic Read Byte 1

1.0 Acyclic Receive Bit 1.0 (free assignable)
1.1 Acyclic Receive Bit 1.1 (free assignable)
1.2 Acyclic Receive Bit 1.2 (free assignable)
1.3 Acyclic Receive Bit 1.3 (free assignable)
1.4 Acyclic Receive Bit 1.4 (free assignable)
1.5 Acyclic Receive Bit 1.5 (free assignable)
1.6 Acyclic Receive Bit 1.6 (free assignable)
1.7 Acyclic Receive Bit 1.7 (free assignable)

The acyclic read function is per default disabled. Only in case the cyclic read data bits are
not sufficient, this function should be enabled, because acyclic read functions causes
additional load on the profibus.

Input interfaces
EN_ACYC Enable acyclic read function Basic state 0-signal
Format BOOL
With a one-signal at this interface the acyclic read function from SIMOCODE is enabled and the
two bytes acyclic data from SIMOCODE are read.

Caution: Due to the fact that an acyclic read functions to DP-Slaves is an additional load to
! the Profibus-Network it is recommended to use this functionality only in case the cyclic read bits
are not sufficient for the necessary binary information from SIMOCODE.

EN_PWR Enable Power measurement Basic state 0-signal

Format BOOL
With a one-signal at this interface the function block assumes that on Byte 4,5,6 and 7 of the
read data the power value from SIMOCODE is transfered. This interface is only evaluated with
Basictype = 1. If this function is active the power value will be converted into kW and linked to
the function block output “PWR” in REAL-Format. Further the power value will be displayed in
the facplate and the trend - faceplate of the C_SIM_AD.

S_CYC_00 …. S_CYC_17 Send Cyclic Data Bits to SIMOCODE Basic state 0-signal
Format BOOL
This interfaces should be connected as per requirement. The two bytes are send directly to the
SIMOCODE and must be connected using SIMOCODE ES Software within the SIMOCODE to
it’s appropriate function.

S_CAV Send Cyclic Analog Value Default: 0

Format INTEGER
This Interface could be connected to an Integer and used within the SIMOCODE as an analog
Setpoint.

ACK Additional acknowledge signal Basic state 0-signal

Format BOOL
The acknowledgement of the SIMOCODE fault is normally carried out together with the
acknowledgement of any alarm within the same AS (default setting). Interface ACK is only
needed for individual acknowledgement (via push-button) or in case of group-wise
acknowledgement.
A signal change from "0" to "1" at ACK acknowledges the fault at the SIMOCODE Adapter
block.
In case of a conventional control desk, a push-button can be connected to ACK (for individual
acknowledgement) or to the acknowledgement interface at block C_PUSHBT can be used (for
AS-wise acknowledgement).

Caution: Using ACK for individual acknowledgement, the acknowledgement interface at the
! C_PUSHBT must not be connected.

For group-wise acknowledgement connect the output ACK of the corresponding group to
interface ACK of the SIMOCODE Adapter block. See Engineering Manual, chapter AS-
Engineering.

F_AV1 Factor Analog Value 1 Default: 1.0

Format REAL
This factor is multiplied with the first analog value (Byte 2/3) received from SIMOCODE and the
result is available on an output of the function block and in the faceplate as well. Due to the fact
that the first analog value from SIMOCODE is specified to be the motor current [%], this factor
should be the end of scale from the used current transmitter in order to match the actual motor
amps.

F_AV2 Factor Analog Value 2 (Basictyp 1) Default: 1.0

Format REAL
This factor is multiplied with the second analog value (Byte 4/5) received from SIMOCODE and
the result is available on an output of the function block and in the faceplate as well. For
Basictyp 2 this factor will not be evaluated.
If, for Basictyp 1, the power measurement is enabled, the power value will be connected to Byte
4/5 and Byte 6/7 because it is a double word within the SIMOCODE. In this case this factor
should have the initial value.

F_AV3 Factor Analog Value 3 (Basictyp 1) Default: 1.0

Format REAL
This factor is multiplied with the third analog value (Byte 6/7) received from SIMOCODE and the
result is available on an output of the function block and in the faceplate as well. For Basictyp 2
this factor will not be evaluated.
If, for Basictyp 1, the power measurement is enabled, the power value will be connected to Byte
4/5 and Byte 6/7 because it is a double word within the SIMOCODE. In this case this factor
should have the initial value.

F_AV4 Factor Analog Value 4 (Basictyp 1) Default: 1.0

Format REAL
This factor is multiplied with the fourth analog value (Byte 8/9) received from SIMOCODE and
the result is available on an output of the function block and in the faceplate as well. For
Basictyp 2 this factor will not be evaluated.

Format BOOL
This interfaces should be connected as per requirement. The two bytes are received directly
from the SIMOCODE and their meaning is as linked within the SIMOCODE using SIMOCODE
ES Software.

Essential: The following linking must be done using SIMOCODE ES Software to ensure the
functionality of the SIM_AD block:
! Send Cyclic 1.5 must be linked to “Device ok”
Send Cyclic 1.6 must be linked to “General Fault”
Send Cyclic 1.7 must be linked to “General Warning”

Using the SIMOCODE blocks from SIMOCODE PCS7 library

The SIMOCODE Adapter block C_SIM_AD reads only the cyclic (and if released the two bytes
acyclic) data from the SIMOCODE.
If additional information from SIMOCODE is needed, such as additional measurement or
statistic values, the SIMOCODE AS Modules and faceplates have to be used.
In this case you have to install the Software “PCS7 SIMOCODE pro V7”. The library contains
drive functions as well as additional blocks for measurement and statistic values.
Depending on the desired functions place the SIMOCODE Blocks into the CFC and connect it
with the CEMAT drive blocks.

Example: C_DRV_1D with SMC_REV

For further information please refer the SIMOCODE library documentation.
