In Amarillo, Texas, just off the legendary ‘’Mother Road’’ Route 66, ten Cadillacs are aligned with an East
to West orientation, half-buried, nose-down in the ground in a single file.

a. Identify words and phrases that show that the author sees Cadillac Ranch as
an impressive historical landmark

« . Cadillac Ranch has come to symbolize the demise of the dinosaurs that
brought the American automobile industry to the brink of extinction. »

b. Why do you think Cadillac Ranch became famous ?

I think the Cadillac Ranch became famous because of the originality of the
place, the reasons why it as been made and it's neer another famous place
the road 66.

2. Look at the picture

a. Describe the installation. Would you call it a ‘’sculpture’’ ? Why or why not ?

The installation is a sculpture made with carcass of cadillac, all the cadillac
are different their is ten cadillac. Their place in a special way from East to
West.

b. Do you personally like it ? Justify your answer.

 Yes i like but i don't really know why because the message of « the american
automobile industry that bring herself into her own end » don't really talk a
lot to me.This kind of modern art that is more spychological than beautiful
don't talk to me neither so i gess i just like it but i can't gess why.

c. Have you ever seen such a quirky installation?

Yes, and a olt more quirky and disturbing than that I have seen the modern art exposition
in the ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum in Denmark during the 2018-2019 summer it was
really disturbing we have seen « No man in an Island – The Satanic Verse », « The
crusades and the Current Stories » from Wael Shawky, « Jake & Dinos Chapman – March
of the Banal » this one was really disturbing perhaps not the most disturbing but it was
really disturbing if you were not prepared.

3. Discuss

a. Do you consider Cadillac Ranch a work of art ?

Yes because art not neccesary beautifull or have a meaning or « good » but
it's still art my 4 years old drawing are art technically their really bad but
it's still art so a sculpture made by artist that have a meaning is art.

b. Does Cadillac Ranch tell us something about America ?

Yes it tell that the american way of life is not good that is just consume to
consume, it's gonna falls by it's own because of the weight of it's own
faillure and contradiction.
