At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Identify verbs, adjectives and adverbs used to convey emotional response or
reaction to an issue to persuade.
2. Use verbs, adjectives and adverbs used to convey emotional response or
reaction to an issue to persuade in a sentence.
3. Write a short persuasive paragraph on keeping safe during Covid- 19
pandemic.
4. Appreciate the essence of learning parallel structures.

E. Abstraction
What is Persuasive?
Persuasive is someone or something that is
likely to persuade you to do or believe a
particular thing.
Persuasive Text is a selection or passage

that contains one’s personal emotion, idea or
responses to an issue.
It provides one’s standpoint as to how
issues should be addressed and examined.
It mainly expresses exposition,
argumentation, discussion, review and
evaluation. Technically, expressing persuasion
may exist not only in texts but also in pictures.
In writing a persuasive text, the write-up
include:
a. A statement of position- the overview of
argumentation revealing one’s standpoint.
b. Argumentation- provides supporting
evidences relative to one’s standpoint.
c. Reinforcement of one’s standpoint-
provides the summary of one’s position based
on the point of argumentation.

Verbs- express action or state of being.

- Determine the subject as to doer or receiver
of an action.
- Complete the thought of a sentence.

 Active Voice- the subject is the doer of
the action.
 Passive Voice- the subject is the

Adjectives is a words that describes a noun or
pronoun. It usually answer the questions:
 What kind?
 How many?
 Which one?
In adjective always remember the acronym
DOSASCOMP, in order for you to know the
Royal Order of Adjectives.

O- Opinion
S- Size
A- Age
S- Shape
C- Color
O- Origin
M- Material
P- Purpose
 Determiner- inform if the adjective is
SINGULAR or PLURAL, DEFINITE or
INDEFINITE, NEAR or FAR.
Examples: a car, the book, an apple, the

for. These adjectives often end with “-ing”

Example: early, tonight Tomorrow, the other day,
yesterday

Nearby, anywhere, inside

I will group you into four (4). I will assign
different tasks and as a group you have to work
on it. After doing so, you have to present their
work. They have 3 minutes to do the activity
and 2 minutes will be allotted for each group to
present they group work.
Group 1 (The Singers) will write a jingle
song which persuading to care for the
environment using correct verbs, adverbs and
adjectives. Afterwards they have to present and
explain their work.
Group 2 (The Poets) will write a poem
which persuading to visit and tourist in beautiful
scenery at Batangas using correct verbs,
adverbs and adjectives. Afterwards they have to
present and explain their work.
Group 3 (The Writers) will write a
persuasive essay which convincing to conserve

water using correct verbs, adverbs and
explain their work.
Group 4 (The Actors) will write a role
playing which encouraging to avoid bullying in
school using correct verbs, adverbs and
explain their work.
