Given the table below, answer the questions the following questions:
x P(x)
1 0.15
2 0.35
3 0.40
4 0.10
1. What is the probability that P(X>2)?
2. What is the probability that P(X=4)?
3. What is the probability that P(1<X<3)?
Solution
P(X=1)=0.15
P(X=2)=0.35
P(X=3)=0.40
P(X=4)=0.10
P(X=4) = 0.10
3. P(1<X<3)
P(1<X<3) means probability that one (1) is less than X and less than three (3).
So if X is less than 1 and less than 3,then Xis equal to two (2).
