Zamboanga del Norte, or simply known as ZANORTE, is a province of the Philippines located

in the Zamboanga Peninsula region in Mindanao. Its capital is Dipolog City and the province
borders Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay to the south and Misamis Occidental to
the east.. Zamboanga del Norte is the largest province of the Zamboanga Peninsula in terms
of land area.

LINABO PEAK

One of the famous tourist spot in Dipolog City is the Linabo Peak. It is located in Brgy.
Lugdungan, Dipolog City. It has an elevation of 486 m (1,594 ft) and consists of 3,003 steps
going up to the topmost peak. You will see the beauty of nature and hear the birds and
crickets singing. When you reach the peak, you will be rewarded by the beautiful scenery of
the two cities of Zamboanga del Norte, Dipolog and Dapitan. The air above the ground is so
refreshing that dries away your sweat. Taking a break at the peak and having some picnic is
also great to do before going down. You can also checkout the towers of some cellular sites
that are situated at the peak.

Kinabayo is an annual observance of Dapitan City’s Fiesta in honor of Saint James the
Greater,”the Moor Slayer”. Held every July, Sinug and Kinabayo have become a festivity.
Sinug’ is purely veneration using San Francisco Leaves raised high, dancing through the
rhythm of the going or beating of drums as the throng of devotees brings the Saint’s Icon to
His Chapel.
