MODULE 5
What you need to know:
Activity-An activity is something you do for a particular course. It could either take the following
forms:

1. Pre-Test- A pre-test may or may not be given at the beginning of the Module. It is a tool
to assess the student’s prior knowledge or the lack thereof, of the subject matter and as
such, it is not graded.

2. Post-Test: A post-test is a tool to assess the students’ learning of the subject matter
after the enabling activities and the lessons are made and as such, is graded. The weight
of the post-test varies.

3. Unit Assessment: A unit assessment is conducted at the end of each module to


measure the student’s learning.

Study Material-this is the resource material for a particular module. It could either be in the form
of a downloadable fact sheet, power point presentation and videos.

References: The references are listed at the end of each lesson. These are necessary to
achieve the learning outcomes.
MODULE 5:

CURRENT TRENDS IN NURSING RESEARCH


At the end of this Module, the student will be able to demonstrate
professionalism, integrity and excellence to keep abreast with an up-to-date
and current trends in conducting nursing research and to strengthen the
utilization of evidence-based research in the delivery of nursing care.
