Ngữ Nghĩa - Ngữ Dụng Học
Ngữ Nghĩa - Ngữ Dụng Học
Ngữ Nghĩa - Ngữ Dụng Học
I. Definition
Saeed (2003): “Semantics is the study of the meaning of words and sentences”.
(intonation, stress, patterns, gestures)
VD: Một diễn giả trình bày một bài diễn văn, một bài thơ, một đoạn thơ,... trong
một số tình huống thậm chí một từ là một phát ngôn.
• Sự kiện vật lý
• Có thể là một cụm từ "Such a beatiful girl!" “Oh my god!” Hoặc thậm chí là
một từ duy nhất "Wow!" “Ohhh!”
Examples:
• Sharks hunt seals.
• Seals are hunted by sharks.
• Seals are preys to sharks.
=> THE SAME MEANING (3 sentences, same proposition)
Example:
French je t'aime
Japanese わたしは、あなたを愛しています
Chinese 我爱你
...sentences?
...proposition?
Sentence meaning (nghĩa của câu)
Nghĩa của câu chỉ xét về mặt ngôn ngữ, không phụ thuộc vào ngữ cảnh.
Nghĩa mệnh đề là nghĩa của câu, còn nghĩa liên cá nhân (ngữ cảnh) là nghĩa
của phát ngôn.
Example:
The meaning of an utterance comes from both the language & the context &
from features of language (e.g. intonation, stress, gestures)
Đặc điểm ngữ nghĩa là đơn vị ý nghĩa nhỏ nhất trong một từ.
Chúng ta xác định ý nghĩa của một từ bằng các đặc điểm ngữ nghĩa của chúng.

HEN
Người ta dùng kí hiệu [+] và [-] để chỉ có hoặc không có đặc điểm:
