• Q4CY23 got off to a solid start as the market followed through on what it had been hinting at all last week with an upside
expansion to put in further distance from support @ 46k.
• Key news drivers today were September CPI coming in hot @ +31.4% vs estimates of +30.95% however this is unlikely to
prompt additional rate hikes from the SBP as the real policy rate (adjusted for average 12-mth forward inflation) is in positive
territory.
• September imports fell -25.3% YoY taking the Trade Deficit to USD 1.5bn.
• Key movers today were SYS PA (+3.71%) to close back above 400, ENGRO PA (+3.14%), OGDC PA (+3.01%) and POL PA
(+2.22%).
• The market remains on track to test 46.9k this week and venture above 47k.
• Support remains firm @ 46k as the market shapes up to test the August highs.
