BY CAROLINE WILLIS Social Media Campaign for Children’s Advantage
The intention of this informal awareness campaign
is to show our agency’s support for LGBTQ youth
by sharing statistics, resources and simple tips to be
a good ally. We want to make a firm statement that
we support LGBTQ youth mental health.

Why Pride?
This post will highlight the importance of celebrating
and educating during Pride Month by sharing a visual
representation of statistics from The Trevor Project and
an agency statement on Pride.

Caption:
Why Pride? There are countless reasons to
celebrate during Pride Month! At Children’s
Advantage, we celebrate to bring awareness to the
mental health crisis currently happening amongst
LGBTQ youth.

Group Spotlight
This is the first time we will be sharing Outspoken on our
social media. The purpose of this post is to communicate that
we do more than SAY we support LGBTQ youth.

Caption:
Outspoken is an 8-week group, empowering teens to explore
mental health and LGBTQ+ topics alongside a group of their
peers and our passionate mental health professionals.

Better Ally Bingo
Sharing basic tips to be a better ally to LGBTQ
youth, every day of the year.

Kids need good allies. Try some of these easy action
steps to support the LGBTQ youth in your life!

Q&A Announcement
The information and resources that we’ve shared all month
long may have prompted questions. This post announces
our open Q&A with the Outspoken group facilitator.

Caption:
What to do when your child comes out? How to handle changing
pronouns? How to make sure your child feels loved and supported
no matter what? Parents have questions. We’re here to help you get
answers! Comment your questions about LGBTQ youths below OR
email them to marketing@childrensadvantage.org and we’ll get you
the answers you need ASAP. Parents: you’re not alone.
