From my perspective, Uratex has implemented the Total Quality
Management paradigm to excel in the field of business. If we define TQM, we can understand that the quality of the products offered is a paramount consideration in achieving company’s objectives in the long run. The narrative has clearly stated that the secret to Uratex’ success was based on their uncompromising commitment to product quality and investment. This basically means that the focus of their brand is to produce a high-end quality foam that constantly improves as years go by, consistently matching their vision of quality. Furthermore, the Uratex utilizes the computerized Vertifoam process, which was only available few years after the foundation of the Uratex brand; and that’s where the continuous improvement in system and processes enters in. The company did not remain stagnant but rather, it advanced and is further developing and innovating up to this present time, making them the leading foam manufacturing company in the country. 2. Uratex has used the three types of quality in its production process. First, the quality of design which focuses on the product’s characteristics, was applied by the brand as it was mentioned in the article that they intended to offer and has worked passionately to design their products so that it can be used in a comfortable, healthy, restful, and peaceful manner. On the other hand, the quality of conformance talks about the product’s reliability and conformity. In simpler terms, if the quality of a product entirely conforms to the specification or design, the quality of conformance is deemed excellent. Their dedication to producing high-quality items at reasonable pricing has earned them a solid reputation in the business and among consumers. I argue that Uratex could further improve its mattresses through the application of reengineering. By definition, reengineering, or more commonly known as Business Process Reengineering (BPR), is the involvement of complete rethinking and transformation. Uratex can implement this by thinking outside the box and further researching to meet the demands of its consumers when it comes to quality improvement. By identifying the needs of the customers, they can analyze which part of their products needs more improvement so that reinvention of a better idea can spark out of it. For instance, unwanted odor is one of the most common complaints of users. The brand could invent another separate product to solve that or they could create another type of foam/mattress that resists the building up of this foul smell. I believe that as the technology advances, the products offered must also advance and match the demand and the current trends in terms of design, conformity, reliability, and function.
