'Instead, I devoted myself to the work on this wall. All
my men were assembled there for the work; we did not acquire any land. '
Nehemiah 5:16
REFLECTION
Being a leader is not easy. The emotional and spiritual stress
can become unbearable upon the leader who is under pressure. Some continues to lead, while others become discourage and quit. Leaders like Nehemiah are examples to follow because they display devotion to God while walking alongside those whom they serve. People kept on destroying their momentum on rebuilding the wall but this didn’t affect Nehemiah and his people because they know what and where to focus on.
MOTIVATION
Just as Nehemiah availed himself, we too have an opportunity
to allow God to work in and through us, to continue the redemption work that he started.
APPLICATION
Recognize and appreciate the godly leaders God has placed in
our lives. Take time to pray for them and affirm them because we need not wait for them to be perfect before we recognize their willingness to serve in God’s work.
