Ms. Loock will be having a Band Information Night here at SCS. This is an opportunity for parents will have the opportunity to learn about the Band program AND secure instruments for their students. English Language Arts (ELA) Students in sixth grade are continuing their journey through fiction with a study of the main elements of fiction. They are working on several short stories from their textbook that include Eleven, President Cleveland, Where Are You?, and Scouts Honor. Expect to see comprehension sheets that reinforce our words for this unit: connect, question, predict, visualize, evaluate, and clarify. Students are starting to explore the writing process this week. They will be focusing on the topic of Wisdom in their daily lives and working to complete a five paragraph expository essay. 92.ktextor@heritageacademies.com Students will be wrapping up their tour of geography this week with a test on the five themes. They will then begin Unit 2, the History of Europe which will include visits to Ancient Rome and Greece. The Five Themes and Geography Location Place Human-Environment Interaction Movement Region I can explain the five different themes of Geography.
Our classroom scientists have completed their journey through the Scientific Method and Lab Safety as they finished their observations of meal worms this week. Students have learned how to work with live materials which will permit them to complete the next portion of their first observational lab. I CAN. . . *I can define scientific inquiry. *I can establish between a hypothesis and a question.
