RATIONALE

Article II, Section 15 of the Philippine Constitution states that the state shall protect and
promote the right to health of the people and instill health consciousness among them.

The Local Government Code (Section 16) mandates all Local Government to exercise the
powers for the efficient and effective governance essential to uphold the general welfare,
especially the health and safety of its people.

Section 30 of Republic Act No. 10742, the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015
mandates the observance of Linggo ng Kabataan in very barangay, municipality, city and
province on the week where the 12th of August falls to coincide with the International Youth Day
(IYD)

In line with the celebration of the International Youth Day, the Linggo ng Kabataan 2022,
will be centered around the: “Intergeneration Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages”, aims to
ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promotion of lifelong learning opportunities
for all.

As the political unit, the barangay serves as the primary planning and implementing unit
of government policies, plans, projects, programs, and activities in the community; and as a
forum, wherein collective views of people maybe expressed, crystallized, and considered; and
where disputes maybe amicably settled.
 Barangay Cawag with the initiative of the Sangguniang Kabataan officials have been
consistently keen in the promotion and furtherance of the development of its barangay
community in the aspects of the economic, socio-cultural, and human development.

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Cawag with the participation of the Katipunan
Ng Kabataan initiated for the “LINGGO NG KATATAGAN, HALINA’T KABATAAN
MAGTULUNGAN”

OBJECTIVES

1 To ensure that youth participation is relevant and is equitable and inclusive for the
residents of Barangay Cawag,

2 To help youth develop a meaningful and purposeful life. This can be encouraged
through providing activities, accountability, teamwork, organization, letting youth know how
important it is for them, asking them for opinions and suggestions, and following through with
them.

3 To help youth increase their knowledge and understanding of the community and to
apply these in every area and relationship of life. This involves participation and teamwork,
allowing youth to teach children, being a role model, etc.

METHODOLOGY

1 In this activity, we will be able to help youth understand and commit themselves to a
engaging perspective of life through learning, showing their talents, sports, workshops, guest
speakers, and a commitment to purity service,

2 In this activity, we will be able to guide youth to develop good habits in constructive
use of their leisure time.

3 In this activity, we can offer youth opportunities and development of social skills. This
can be done by involvement with one another, honing their various capacities.
