What’s New
If facilities are cared and used well, they will have a longer shelf life. Others will be able to
benefit from their use. Conducting proper etiquette in the use of facilities also ensures the
safety of those who use them. The risks in using them are minimized. Proper etiquette is also
important because it implies good behavior, show respect and consideration to others.
What is It
In this lesson dance fitness and training injuries can be prevented if an individual takes
the necessary preparations and precautions on the following variables.
Proper attire. The attire should be appropriate for the chosen activity. It is important to
consider comfort and protection when choosing appropriate attire. A special
attention should be given when choosing footwear because many chronic injuries
are caused by inappropriate shoes. A good pair of shoes will provide stability,
support, and cushion and comfort.
Proper Technique. An individual needs to consult a trainer and ask for proper
instruction in performing the chosen activity or exercise. The knowledge on how
to execute the movement is just as important as the movement. The benefit of the
exercise will be compromised if it is not performed with the correct technique.
Ex. Poor running mechanics can leads to patella femoral pain and plantar
fasciitis.
5. CAN'T IT WAIT?
Being in the center of the studio with your bestie surrounded by eager
exercisers is not the optimum or appropriate time to catch up on your gossip.
Some people actually want to use their exercise time, well, exercising. Hold
that chat until you've worked up a good sweat and the class is finished.
6. WHAT'S SO FUNNY?
Don't take the mickey during the class just because you yourself are feeling
uncomfortable and self-conscious, and certainly don't start mocking the people
in the class with you.
