b. produce a draft of two paragraphs.
1. Pre-lesson:
2. Teacher writes the word embarrass on the board. Teacher adds -ing
and informs pupils that the word is now an adjective. Teacher asks
pupils to make sentences using the two words.

5. 1. Pupil refer to textbook page 15 Activity Working with words.
6. 2. Teacher asks pupils if they remember the newspaper article from
textbook page 9. Pupils share the introduction, main body and
conclusion from the newspaper article from the textbook.
Activities
7. 3. Pupils are introduced to newspaper article writing. Teacher
introduces the topic of accident to pupils.
8. 4. In pairs, pupils come out with a title. Then, pupils are guided to work
on the introduction (Who? Where? What were they doing?).
9. 5. Next, pupils work on the main body (What happened?, How did they
feel?). Lastly, pupils are guided to write the conclusion (How did it end?
What did people say?)

Post-lesson:
Pupils share their story with the class.
Pupils can
1. narrate a newspaper article based on the given prompts and
format.
2. produce a draft of newspaper article with at least 2 suitable
Reflection paragraphs.

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
Objective(s) a. guess the two words with given clues.
b. read and answer at least 5 questions correctly.
Pre-lesson:
The word ‘figure skater’ and ‘chess player’ are written on the board.
Pupils guess the meanings of the words.

Lesson delivery:
1. Pupils refer to textbook page 8. Pupils look at the picture. Pupils read
along with audio CD1 Track 11.
2. Pupils refer to questions in Activity 2 textbook page 23. Pupils
complete the comprehension questions in their module.
3. Pupils sit in groups. Teacher uses these questions to ask the all the
Activities groups. Pupils write answer in a small whiteboard/laminated paper.
a. What time does Megan go to the ice-skating rink?
b. What does she do after school?
c. Does she always watch TV after dinner?
d. What time does she go to bed?
e. What time does Pablo go to school?
f. What time does Pablo go home?
g. Why?
h. Does he always play chess with his friends?
Post-lesson:
The group with most correct answers win the game.

4.2.4 Describe people, places and objects using suitable statements
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
Objective(s) a. read and match the adjectives
b. describe a phone using sentences.
Pre-lesson:
Teacher writes a few adjectives on the board (big, small, fast, slow).
Teacher explains that these words are adjectives and gives a sample
sentence.

Lesson delivery:
1. Pupils refer the adjective in textbook page 8 Activity 1.
2. Pupils read the text with 8 adjectives in blue. Pupils are guided by
CD1-09. Pupils match the blue words with their opposites in the box.
3. Pupils listen to their audio again to check their answers.
Activities 4. Teacher writes a few words (screen, keys, answer key, end call key,
sim card, ringtone, charger, hands free). Teacher holds up his/her
phone and ask pupils if they the words on the board.
5. Pupils are asked to write the adjectives that they can use to describe
a phone.
6. Teacher writes an adjective and a sample sentence using the
adjective to describe a phone.
7. Pupils write 3 sentences using the adjectives that they have written to
describe phone.
Post-lesson:
Teacher and pupils discuss the answers.
Pupils can
1. read and match at last 4 antonyms correctly.
2. write at least 3 sentences using the adjectives to describe a phone.
