Pre-lesson: Pupils are asked about celebrations in Malaysia.

Lesson delivery:
1. A page from a calendar is shown to pupils. Teacher asks what day and month is it.
2. Teacher writes on the board. It’s Monday, 11 October (what we write), Monday the eleventh
Activities of October (what we say).
3. Pupils are informed about the formation of ordinal numbers with the ending th. A few
exceptions- first, second, third
4. Pupils refer to textbook page 37 and guess what are the pictures and words are about.
5. CD 1 53 is played. Pupils listen and sing along.
Post-lesson: Pupils practise and come to the front in groups to perform the song.
Pupils can:
a. talk about their past activities in at least two sentences using past simple verbs correctly.

2. Pre-lesson Task 12: Prepare jumbled-up words that make up a sentence about Akbar’s Dream.
The fastest group that can rearrange the words to make the sentence wins.

1. Divide pupils into groups.
2. In groups, pupils read Chapter 1 of Akbar’s Dream together.
3. Pupils talk about the characters and the sequence of events. (Assessment)
4. Distribute the lyrics of the song from the guidebook (page 38) to each group.
Activities 5. Show the video clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb3B5NZ6c-c to introduce the tune
of the song to the pupils.
6. Pupils read the lyrics together and practise singing the lyrics with the tune. (Assessment)
7. Pupils perform the song in groups.

Post-lesson Task 1: Pupils listen to the actual song.

1. Pupils write leaflet. (Assessment)
2. They read and check text and draw a smiley face ☺ for:
a. Question headings
b. information about animal
c. the problem
d. how to help animal
e. adjectives with -er/more, -est/most;
f. example
g. can and can’t.
Post-lesson:
Teacher checks their answers.
Pupils can:
a. make notes for questions 1, 2, 3 and 5.
b. produce a plan of at least three paragraphs about the Malayan Tiger.
