Architecture in a Bus Terminal inside Metro manila

Background of the Study

Transportation is a significant system that will always be
affiliated with society as it is also the one that functions the community
since it improves social, economic, industrial, and commercial progress that
undergoes our everyday living. One of the most important services and a key
factor in determining how development will proceed is transportation. It is
crucial to provide organized facilities in the system, one of which is a bus
terminal, in order to achieve the desired transportation balance and for the

system to be efficient.

The transportation system needs an access point because it

involves the movement of both people and products. Providing terminals would be
a very essential way to help the transportation of humans to be a convenient
way of their place-to-place traveling. Bus terminals are a great way to help
and improve the community’s transportation traffic. With the help of many
passengers that a bus can carry, the traffic population can be reduced as it

also organizes the public passenger’s movement.

· Biophilic Style of Architecture

The
purpose of biophilic design is to reestablish the thousands-year-old
interaction between humans and nature. All of those components are brought
together in this design to create a natural environment amidst
man-made places.

· A combination of modern architecture and biophilic design.

· Improved air quality and ventilationand aims to lessen air pollution around
cities one building at a time.
· Helps relieve stress and improve mental well-being of passengers and drivers.
· Access to and views of nature.

Design Concept

· Biophilic Style of Architecture

Design to connect building and structures more closely to nature it is the

Biophilic designed, buildings that incorporate things like natural lighting
and ventilation, natural landscape features and other elements for creating
a more productive and healthier built environment for people.

The goal is to weave in nature throughout the city as it continues to uproot

new buildings and developments, incorporating the implementation of
plant life in any form, whether it be through green roofs, cascading vertical
gardens, or verdant walls.

Design goal

This design aims to have a safe and comfortable experience while using public
transportation, proper spacing and proper flow of vehicles and passengers, to have
proper use of natural ventilation and lighting, and become one with the nature by using
biophilic style of architecture. Creating structure that help lessen our problem at air
pollution and climate change.

Design objective

- To design well ventilated and properly solar shaded

- To provide thermal comfort to all passenger

- To design spaces that meets the standard requirements by the law, and provide all
the users need.

- To make a flow, it is to design the entrances, queue, and exits for passengers and
buses properly to maintain orderly flow

- Energy saving design (using of natural ventilation exchange of aircon natural

lighting instead of bulb) (open floor plan)
