The teacher will briefly ask the students a set of questions as a recall of the previous lesson. The teacher will connect this to the
new topic of discussion.

The teacher will ask the students the name of the following illustrations and its classification.

A. Introduction Motivation
The students will watch a video clip about electricity. The teacher will then ask the students the following questions.

2. What tips can you give to the man in the video?
3. What tools, equipment and materials can you use in electrical installation and maintenance?
B. Development
C. Engagement GROUP ACTIVITY
The class will be divided into 5 (five) groups. Each group will be given a situation about electrical installation and maintenance.
Each group will create a list of tools, equipment and materials needed in the specific task given to them. The students will present
and explain their output in front of the class. Each group will be graded according to the rubric below.

GROUP 1 – Anna called an electrician to change her lamp holder in the kitchen which overheated last night. What electrical tools,
equipment and materials would the electrician need to do this task?
GROUP 2 – Joseph called an electrician to replace the light switch in his bedroom. What electrical tools, equipment and materials
would the electrician need to do this task?
GROUP 3 – Mary would like to change her male plug with a longer flat Cord. What electrical tools, equipment and materials would
she need to do this task?
GROUP 4 – John decided to renovate his house and would like to replace the convenience outlet in their living area. What electrical
tools, equipment and materials would he need to do this task?
GROUP 5 – Rob and Chi moved into a new apartment. They would like to make sure that all electrical wirings are organized. What
electrical tools, equipment and materials would they need to do this task?

EVALUATION
Directions: Read the statement carefully and identify what is being described or defined. Choose your answer from the words inside
the box.

______________1. This is used for griping, holding, cutting electrical wires and cables and even small nails. Usually used by
linemen in doing heavy tasks.
______________2. Used for cutting and holding fine wires. This can reach tight space or small opening where other pliers cannot
reach and also used in making terminal loops of copper wires.
______________3. This has a cross tip resembling a positive (+) sign. It is used to drive screws with cross slot heads.
______________4. This is tools used in driving or pounding and pulling out nails.

concrete walls.

screws in tight space where standard screw driver cannot be used.
______________8. Used by linemen to remove insulation of wire and cables in low and high voltage transmission lines.
______________9. Is a device inserted to a convenience outlet to conduct electric current. A flat cord is attached to it on one end
and the other end is connected to a current consuming instrument or appliance.
______________10. This is a circuit protective device that automatically blows and cut the current when an over load or short circuit
happens.
______________11. This is a rectangular shaped metallic or plastic (PVC) material in which flush type convenience outlet and
switch are attached.
______________12. Are electrical materials used as the passage of wires for protection and Insulation.
______________13. Are used to attach metallic or non-metallic conduit to the junction or utility boxes.
______________14. This is a protective device used to automatically cut off the current when trouble in the circuit such as short
circuit or over load occurs.
______________15. Is an octagonal shaped electrical material where the connections or joints of wires are being done. It is also
where the flush type lamp holder is attached.
