IV. RESULTS AND ANALYSIS

(M15, 1:2:4)

Volume of Cylinder: V =π r 2 h
2
¿ π ( 0.075 ) ( 0.3 m)
3
V =0.0053 m

The volume of the cylinder is calculated using the formula for the
volume of a cylinder, V =π r 2 h, where "r" is the radius and "h" is the height. For
the given dimensions, the volume is found to be 0.0053 cubic meters (m3).

cement
Quantity of Cement ¿ × 1.57
total volume
1
¿ ×1.57

3
¿ 0.224 m
1m3 of cement = 1440 kgs/m3
0.224 m3 = 322.9 kg
m ( kg )
1400 kg/m3 = 3
0.224 m
M = 322.9 kg

1m 0.0053 m
=
122.9 kg x (per cylinder )
x=1.711kg

Vision: A globally competitive university for science, technology, and environmental conservation.
Mission: Development of a highly competitive human resource, cutting-edge scientific knowledge and
innovative technologies for sustainable communities and environment.
To determine the amount of cement needed, we use the mix ratio. For
M15 concrete, the mix ratio is 1:2:4, which means for every 1 parts of cement,
it needs 2 parts of sand and 4 parts of aggregates. The volume of cement is
calculated to be 0.224 m3. Converting this volume to weight using the density
of cement (1440 kg/m3), we find that 0.224 m3 of cement weighs 322.9 kg.

sand
Quantity of Sand ¿ × 1.57
total volume
2
¿ ×1.57
7
3
¿ 0.449 m
3
1m of sand = 1600kgs
0.449 m3 of sand = 717.714 kgs
717.714 kg x (kg)
3
=
1m 0.0053 m3
x=3.80 kg

Similarly, the volume of sand is determined using the mix ratio,

resulting in a volume of 0.449 m3. Converting this volume to weight using the
density of sand (1600 kg/m3), we find that 0.449 m3 of sand weighs 717.714
kg.

4
Quantity of Aggregates ¿ ×1.57
7
3
¿ 0.897 m
1m3 of aggregate = 1500 – 1800 kgs
0.893 m3 of aggregate = 1345 kgs
3
1345 kg 0.0053 m
3
=
1m x
x=7.1 kg

The volume of aggregates is calculated to be 0.897 m3 using the mix

ratio. Considering a range of densities for aggregates (1500-1800 kg/m3), we
calculate the weight of 0.897 m3 of aggregates to be 1345 kg.

V. CONCLUSION

Concrete mixing demands precision and strict adherence to

established standards as it directly impacts the quality, strength, and durability
of concrete structures. Proper mixing, combined with meticulous attention to
mixing ratios, water-cement ratios, and quality control, is indispensable in
guaranteeing the success of concrete construction projects and ensuring the
enduring performance of concrete structures.
