Executive The safety practices in the home economics room of Tomas Cabili
Summary Central School must be reviewed and improved to prevent accidents and
injuries. Lack of awareness, inadequate safety equipment, poor
maintenance, and a lack of training on safety protocols are the primary
causes of unsafe practices in the room. Developing and implementing a
comprehensive safety plan, providing adequate safety equipment,
conducting regular safety training sessions, and establishing a safety
committee are recommended solutions. These strategies will promote a
culture of safety, protecting students and staff from potential hazards
while working in the home economics room. Common safety practices in
a home economics room Conducting regular safety inspections of the
room and equipment to identify hazards and address them promptly
Providing proper training to students and teachers on the safe use of
equipment and tools, including knives, scissors, and electrical appliances
Ensuring that students and teachers wear appropriate personal protective
equipment, such as aprons, gloves, and goggles, when handling materials
and equipment. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment to
prevent slips, trips, and falls. Establishing clear rules and procedures for
handling and storing materials and equipment, such as chemicals,
flammable materials, and sharp objects, and providing emergency
response plans and first aid kits in case of accidents or injuries Overall, a
safe home economics room should prioritize the well-being of everyone
involved and foster a positive learning environment.
Statement of the There are many possible reasons why these problems aroused and written
Problem below are the causes:

1. Lack of safety protocols, followed by the students and staff. While

handling equipment and materials in the home economics room.
2. Insufficient safety equipment such as gloves, aprons googles that
provided to students and teachers.
3. Inadequate training on safety measures and procedures for both
students and staff.
4. Poor maintenance and upkeep of the equipment facilities in the
home economics room, leading to potential hazards.

Causes of the 1. The researchers considered the lack of awareness among students
Problem and teachers as one of the causes of the problem. The researchers
observed that students and teachers may not be aware of the
potential hazards. Correct handling of equipment and materials in
the home economics room may lead to unsafe practices.
2. Additionally, the researchers list inadequate safety equipment as
one of the causes of the problem. Students and teachers may not
have utilized necessary safety equipment such as gloves, aprons,
and goggles to adequately protect themselves from accidents or
injuries.
3. Furthermore, the researchers also consider poor maintenance of
equipment as one of the causes of the problem. They observed that
a lack of maintenance and upkeep of equipment and tools in the
home economics room can result in faulty or unsafe equipment,
posing a risk to students and staff.
4. Moreover, the researchers also consider the lack of training on
safety protocols as one of the causes of the problem. Students and
teachers may not have received proper training and instruction on
safety protocols, leading to a lack of knowledge or
misunderstanding of safety practices, which would result in
unsaved practices.
5. Lastly, the researchers also consider inadequate oversight and
supervision as one of the causes of the problem. A lack of proper
oversight and supervision during classes could lead students to
engage in unsafe practices, posing a risk to themselves and others.

Decision criteria and Alternative solutions for improving safety practices

Decision Criteria in the home economics room of Tomas Cabili Central School:
and Alternative
Solution Decision Criteria:

1. Effectiveness - The solutions proposed should be effective in

improving safety practices in the home economics room.
2. Feasibility - The solutions proposed should be feasible to
implement and sustainable in the long run.
3. Cost - The solutions proposed should be reasonable in cost, with
minimal impact on the school's budget.
4. Access - The solutions proposed should be accessible to both
students and teachers.

Alternative Solutions:

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive safety plan - create a

safety manual that outlines the procedures and protocols for using
equipment, handling materials, and responding to emergencies.
2. Provide safety equipment - ensure that proper safety equipment
such as gloves, aprons, and goggles are readily available for both
students and teachers.
3. Conduct regular safety training sessions - regularly conduct
training sessions with students and teachers to ensure that they
understand safety measures and procedures in the home
economics room.
4. Ensure that equipment and facilities are well-maintained - regular
inspection, maintenance, and replacement of equipment should be
carried out to reduce the risk of accidents and improve safety.
5. Establish safety committees - form a safety committee to ensure
the adherence to safety protocols and compliance with best
practices in safety.

Implementation A comprehensive safety plan that includes safety protocols and guidelines on
and Justification. the use of equipment, handling of materials, and emergency procedures should
be developed and implemented. Additionally, adequate safety equipment and
protective gear, such as gloves, aprons, and goggles, should be made available
to both students and teachers. Regular safety training sessions should be
conducted, and equipment and facilities should be well maintained.

Implementation:

The implementation of the safety plan should be undertaken in

collaboration with students and teachers, who should be involved in the
planning and training sessions. Adequate safety equipment should be
purchased, and a system should be put in place for regular safety
equipment checks. Additionally, regular safety training sessions should be
conducted for both students and teachers to ensure that they are up-to-date
with safety protocols. A safety committee should be created to oversee
adherence to safety procedures and best practices.

Justification:

It is essential to ensure that all students and teachers are safe while
working in the home economics room. Developing and implementing a
comprehensive safety plan will reduce the occurrence of accidents and
injuries, limiting the school's liability. Providing adequate safety
equipment and conducting regular safety training sessions will ensure that
students and teachers can confidently and safely use the equipment. By
establishing a safety committee, the school can demonstrate its
commitment to safety and foster a culture of safety among students and
teachers.
