Time Travel With English Application
Time Travel With English Application
Project introduction
This is a project which aims at developing the four skills of the English language: reading,
writing, speaking and listening. The main focus would be presenting students with vocabulary
that is used from the past to the present in a single context. This is done by the implementation
of various games and activities, online meetings and chat rooms which would enable the
students to use the language as much as possible. The project was done by a group of
incredibly enthusiastic teachers from nine different countries: North Macedonia, Turkey,
Portugal, Greece, Romania, Croatia, Bulgaria, Georgia and Azerbaijan. The students are aged
9-14 years old. Various activities were done which were in line with art, drama, foreign
languages, media education and ICT. What is more, students worked on their competencies
and also learnt a lot about other countries and their culture.

This has been a wonderful project where all of the activities where planned and completed
together. We had an amazing guide, the founder of the project, that kept inspiring us to do more
and complete the activities together. We had many online meetings where we discussed about
the direction in which we want our project to develop. Apart from the online meetings we also
had constant communication via WhatsApp group. This was incredibly helpful in order for the
project to go smoothly and complete our goal. Our group was big so it was crucial to have a
great understanding between us, members.

There were a lot of activities where the students worked together. A great collaboration was
done during a zoom meeting where students brainstormed words connected to eTwinning. Also
students communicated in the chat room. Apart from that we had a joint work on Safer Internet
Day, we created a story on storyjumper together. They could all say something about them on
Linoit. The students created an acrostic poem, created letters for the name of the project and
recorded e-safety slogans.
The students completed their tasks meticulously. In the end they said their goodbyes and
shared with the others what TTWE and eTwinning means for them. Eventually, everything was
wrapped up in a nice story Andy the Time traveler.

Data protection and copyright issues were addressed seriously and students spent a lot of time
on discussing the importance of Internet safety. We created pictures, we recorded slogans and
we made posters that talk about this issue.

Pedagogical approaches
The variety of activities enabled me to use different approaches. Some things were done
individually in the comfort of the students’ homes while others were done at school in the
classroom. Since the students are nine years old they were able to complete the tasks by
themselves of course with a suitable guidance from me. Sometimes they worked in pair but
most often we worked together as a group and had a lot of fun.
Curricular integration
The key competencies they developed were speaking and writing in English. Also they
became more proficient at using web2 tools and had many opportunities to express themselves
creatively.
Please describe the impact that this project had on your pupils and on your
work as a teacher. In particular:
a) How you achieved the set of objectives of your project.
b) How you evaluated your project.
c) How you disseminated the project and the project outcomes.
Yes, I have achieved my set of objectives. The students enriched their vocabulary. They
practiced reading, writing and speaking English. Also, they learnt how to use new digital tools.
The project was evaluated by discussion in the classroom and also by students completing a
form where they expressed their experience in the project.
The project was disseminated by creating school corners, sharing information on social media
as well as publishing on the school’s website.

Your contribution
Apart from working closely together with all of the members of the project,
during the meetings I expressed my ideas and agreed on the course of the
project together. I also had clear responsibilities which could be seen from the
task distribution page.
