METRIC SCREW THREADS - M PROFILE ASME Bl.13M
1995

I IFI NOTES:

1. ASME 81. 13M-I995 has been abstracted and editorially reformatted

to include only the dimensions and other relevant data for those com-
binations of sizes, thread pitches and tolerance grades associated
with the metric fasteners covered In this book. Complete data for all
metric screw threads with the M profile are contained in ASME
81. 13M-199S. Copies of this standard are available from The Ameri-
can Society of Mechanical Engineers, Three Park Avenue, New York,
NY 10016-5990, U.S.A.

2. Screw threads produced to this standard are fully interchangeable

with threads conforming to other national and international standards
which are based on the ISO 68 basic profile and ISO 96511 tolerance
practices.

3. The material presented in this abstract is copied without technical

change from ASME 81.13M~1995. In abstracting and reformatting, It
was necessary to renumber some of the paragraphs, figures and
tables to maintain continuity.

4. Threads produced in accordance with M profile and MJ profile (ANSI

81.21M) design data will assemble with each other. However, exter~
nal MJ threads will encounter Interference on the root radii with In~
ternal M thread crests when both threads are at maximum material
condition.

not to be used as a design profile. Rather, it is an Indication of the limiting acceptable condition for the rounded root form
which will pass a GO thread gage.
