Chess Guidelines and Rule Book


I. Player Requirements:

1. All players must be bona fide students of Liberty Integrated School


2. Players are not allowed to join more than 1 team.
3. Players must be available for all tournament dates.
4. The act of registering for this tournament implies full acceptance of all
terms, conditions, rules and regulations stated, in its entirety.
5. Each faction is limited only up to 2 members (male and female).
6. The list of athletes must be submitted to the tournament manager on
the 1 week before the event. The faction will be disqualified if it uses an
ineligible player that is not on the roster.
7. The school’s student athletes are/will be allowed to play in their
respective event.
8. The competition will be a Single Elimination type of tournament
9. Each player must wear their respective Faction shirt/color.

II. Faction Requirement:

1. Each faction should provide their own chess board.


2. A team must consist of 2 players (1 male & 1 female).
3. Teams are prohibited to replace any of registered players including the
reserved player throughout the event.

III. Tournament schedules and rules


1. Tournament schedule will be available onsite
2. Players are expected to be in the game stage and in-game lobby 10
minutes before the designated time.
3. If one team is not ready at the designated time, their opponent is
awarded a default win by contacting the tournament manager (after the
10-minute waiting period) and have him check the lobby.
4. The competition will be a Single Elimination type of tournament
5. No one is allowed to enter the lobby except the players, faction
advisers and officials.
6. All games will be played at the Kinder Hall.
7. The tournament will use a Rapid Chess Game meaning all the moves
must be completed in a fixed time of more than 10 minutes but less
than 60 minutes for each player; or the time allotted plus 60 times any
increment is of more than 10 minutes but less than 60 minutes for each
player. game type of competition.
8. Touch and move rule have to be strictly followed.
9. Chess is a quite game! And therefore, all distracting behaviors like
making noises, talking, moving tables or chairs are forbidden.
10. Cell phones must be in a silent mode
11. The tournament manager will record the final results of a Chess Game.
IV. General Conduct

1. Players will conduct themselves with sportsmanship and reasonable


manner, maintaining a friendly and polite demeanor to spectators,
competitors, members of the press, tournament staff, and other
participants of the event.
2. Players will refrain from usage of vulgar language during the entire
competition. All rules of conduct also apply to chatting through game
console.
3. Players are expected to compete in a professional manner. Throwing a
match, halting play without cause, or showing a flagrant lack of effort
construed as a violation of player conduct, and will result in match
penalties, forfeit and disqualification from the tournament.
4. The tournament manager has the right to apply penalties, disqualify
and dismiss any registered player from the tournament, at their
discretion, at any stage of the tournament, for any reason, with no prior
warning to the players.
5. Betting is strictly forbidden between teams and will not be tolerated.

UNFORSEEN ITEMS

As regards the specific items not expressly foreseen in this regulation, the
Chairman or Tournament Manager will decide in consultation with the General Rules
and Guidelines contained in the FIVB.
