Materials Needed:
Medium weight YELLOW yarn
Medium weight BLACK yarn
Medium weight LIGHT BROWN yarn
2 black plastic eyes (painted felt or carefully sewn black yarn can be substituted to
reduce choking hazard for young children)
Red felt circles
4mm Crochet hook
Yarn needle
Stuffing
Hot glue
Abbreviations:
st- stitches
inc- increase
sc- single crochet
dec- decrease
hdc- half double crochet
ch- chain
f/o- finish off
Head: in Yellow
1) magic circle with 6st (6)
2) inc around (12)
3) (sc, inc) around (18)
4) (2sc, inc) around (24)
5-8) sc around (4 rounds) (24)
9) (2sc, dec) around (18)
10) (sc, dec) around (12)
<time to stuff it>
11) dec around (6)
f/o and leave a tail. Sew it closed (it should be a complete sphere).
Body: in Yellow
1) magic circle with 6st (6)
2) inc around (12)
3) (sc, inc) around (18)
4-7) sc around (4 rounds)(18)
8) dec around (9)

f/o and sew the open circle onto the base of the head.

Eyes: Glue or sew on black plastic eyes.
Mouth/Nose: Separate a single strand of black yarn and carefully sew mouth and nose
lines. Black embroidery floss may be a good option as well.
Cheeks: Cut small circles of red felt and glue them by the eyes.
