Born on the 21 June 1996 in Harare, Zimbabwe, Chengeto Brown known as Chengeto is a
Zimbabwean female Afro-Pop/RnB Singer, Mbira player and guitarist. She is the daughter of iconic
Zimbabwean singers Andy Brown and Chiwoniso Maraire.

Early Music

Chengeto has released a few singles on all digital platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google
play including her YouTube channel. See’s also done a string of collaborations over the years with
artists in the SADC region.

Career

She started her musical career at the young tender age of just 12 when she first learnt how to play
the Guitar and the Mbira, after finishing high school in the United States of America where she was
based for most of her adolescent years. She released her first single as an upcoming young talent

title “If I” which kicked of her famously well known artistic writing skills that talk about the trials and
tribulations of love in relationships and is her second biggest track to date.

Her amazing talent has been showcased at quiet a few events like The Book Cafe with Brother Alex
Brown and Sister Ammara Brown. She’s also graced festival and concert stages such as the “Let them
trust” Festival in 2016, the “Joss Stone Ngoma Nehosho” Concert in 2017 and she also travelled to
South Africa to collaborate with Oliver Mtukudzi, Salif Keita on Willom Tights Album. This year also
marked the release of her most successful commercial hit “Pedzaneni.” Then came the year 2018
where she perform at the Amartia Ignite Concert and shared the stage with Mr Eazi and Ammara
Brown after the release of they hit song “Wachu want” and they shot the first Music Video that
Chengeto has been part of with the award winning video director Blaqs. She also release great
singles titled “No Drama and Lovey Dovey and also marked the year she became a mother to her son
Zion.

Then came 2019 where she graced the Women words and Wine festival and she also dropped yet
another love song titled “Good to me.” Her highlight performance for this year was at the ZIMA
Awards Ceremony and the “First Virtual Online Live Concert” by Moto Republik, they also celebrate
this year as they 5year anniversary running. She also released her new single titled “Different”
which is currently doing well in the Nationwide’s Top10 harts across all road stations in Zimbabwe
and she’s also featured on the “Pungwe project” by Multi-Award winning producer Rhymez and was
powered by Point Black and German Society.
