Another question is “How did those students use YouTube to improve their listening
skills?”. Through a chart of the years, students spent at least 10 minutes and up to over
three hours listening to English. This shows the amount of time that students are
exposed to the target language on average from one to two hours a day. Combined
with chart 5, the frequency of using YouTube ranges from once to over three times a
day. The data from the chart shows that watching YouTube three times a day has the
highest proportion, so on average, students will listen to English on YouTube from one
to two times a day. During that listening time, shadowing technique is the most
commonly used and practiced technique by language students when practicing
listening to English YouTube videos. According to Junipisa and Aristana, shadowing
could greatly improve students' listening skills (2021).
The most significant question from section …."What students have learned through
their listening skills on Youtube?”. According to the seventh data table, students have
learned a lot when listening to English Youtube videos. In terms of vocabulary, the
amount of vocabulary that students absorb from Youtube is very large. The assessment
of the impact of Youtube on the vocabulary aspect by some previous researchers is
entirely appropriate and accurate. When most students believe that the knowledge they
have learned from Youtube is mostly vocabulary in the videos when they listen to
English. In addition, the amount of other knowledge such as expressions, collocations,
idioms, and sentences also develops as mentioned by students."
The Chart 11 is a representation of the actual opinions that students have about this
application when answering a statement that asks "Do you think this is an ideal
application to improve your listening skills?". From the data on that chart, the
students' agreement with a positive attitude towards the researcher's perspective is
clearly shown. This application has significantly changed the listening skills of
students with many benefits that it brings to the listening process, especially in areas
such as vocabulary, pronunciation, authenticity, and motivation. These students
believe that their pronunciation has dramatically improved by listening to English on
Youtube. While listening, they open subtitles to learn new words and practice
pronunciation. Videos on this platform are posted by people from all over the world,
so they are diverse in tone and accent. This helps them become familiar with different
tones of the same language easily. Furthermore, they can learn pronunciation by
looking at the speaker's mouth shape in the videos, making it easier to learn
pronunciation. The self-evaluation of students' listening ability with the Youtube
application has improved significantly, as shown in Table 10.

The research conducted has certain limitations with regards to the size of the sample
surveyed. This means that the data analysis is only applicable to a small group of
English language majors who were part of the survey. The research does not mention
the main features of Youtube application, just gives information about its effects in
education.
