Question 2

(i) Given that cos (A - B) = cos A cos B + sin A sin B, find the value of cos 15o. [2]

(ii) The base diameter of solid in the form of a cone is 6 cm and the height of the cone is 10
cm. It is melted and recast into spherical balls of diameter 1 cm. Find the number of balls,
thus obtained. [2]

(iii) In figure,  and m are two parallel tangents at P and R. The tangent at Q makes an
intercept ST between  and m. Prove that SOT = 90o. [3]

Question 3

(i) If sin   cos  = m and sec   cos ec  n, then prove that n (m2 - 1) = 2m. [2]

(ii) PQR is a right-angled triangle with PQ = 12 cm and QR = 5 cm. A circle with centre O
and radius x is inscribed in  PQR. Find the value of x. [2]

(iii) By melting a solid cylindrical metal, a few conical materials are to be made. If three
times the radius of the cone is equal to twice the radius of the cylinder and the ratio of the
height of the cylinder and the height of the cone is 4 : 3 find the number of cones which
can be made. [3]

(iv) Two unbiased coins are tossed simultaneously. Find the probability of getting [3]
(i) two heads (ii) at least one head (iii) at most one head.

(i) A Rhombus of side of 10 cm has two angles of 60o each. Find the length of diagonals
and find its area. [2]

(ii) If  is an acute angle and tan  + cot  =2 find the value of tan9   cot9  [2]

(iii) Water flows at the rate of 10 m per minute through a cylindrical pipe having its diameter
as 5 mm. How much time till it takes to fill a conical vessel whose diameter of the base is
40 cm and depth 24 cm ? [3]
