STRATEGIC PLAN

Rationale:
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought drastic changes in schools which caused difficulty to the entire school community in accessing
education. Though there were identified learning modalities as options for students to learn in the midst of pandemic, still there have been lots
of challenges including access to learning materials, distribution schemes, and how to ensure that basic educational needs are addressed. Hence,
the LAB SA BARANGAY was initiated.

The project features the installation of Community Learning Hubs in Barangays Dita, Bigaa, Buyuan, Bogna, and Mabinit made possible
through a signed Memorandum of Agreement between the school administrator and the barangay officials. These are the communities that the
school cater. Such an initiative brings closer to the community a library hub which functions as an alternative education system. The LAB SA
BARANGAY provides reading and other learning materials that the youths of the barangays can use to aid and supplement learning materials .
Because the usual library services are not possible because of strict compliance to health protocols, establishment of these hubs became
beneficial to all.

Not only does it serve as a source of educational materials, the LAB SA BARANGAY has also become a venue for scheduled tutorials to
students with special learning needs, distribution of Self Learning Modules, and meetings with stakeholders and Learning Facilitators. Moreover,
this has become a place to keeping an active communication channel to follow up students’ progress and in encouraging support to the
undertakings of the school.
Ensuring a sound mind and healthy psychological well-being also became central to the establishment of the LAB SA BARANGAY.
Because of the present educational setup where students learn home-schooled at their own pace, socialization was limited and they have
become prone to mental stress, depression, fatigue, and anxiety. The LAB SA BARANGAY addresses this problem by providing recreational areas
where students can play, enjoy, and relieve tensions and exhaustions from the bulk of works. All of these activities, however, are subject to the
observance of government protocols to ensure safety.

Indeed, the LAB SA BARANGAY has become an integral part of communities where the school channels out its services to uphold it
commitment to bring quality and accessible education.

The LAB SA BARANGAY aims to:

1. Provide access to basic education as well as to integrate impact projects to serve as an alternative education system, specifically by
maximizing the use of books and other reading materials in learning in this time of pandemic;
2. Set up Community Learning Center in the barangay; and
3. Provide the local government units especially the barangays with opportunities to participate actively in the implementation of school’s
programs and projects.
