Tien Quang Nguyen, a Deputy Head of Department of Thermal Energy Engineering at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, is writing to express interest in attending a Hydrogen & PtX Training program from March 11-22, 2024. He believes the program will help him acquire practical knowledge and experience in hydrogen energy conversion and applications in Vietnam. As a lecturer and researcher in energy technology and transition, he wants to gain knowledge on hydrogen and ammonia to develop related course materials, as Vietnam is committed to energy transition but researchers lack knowledge in this rapidly changing area, especially regarding hydrogen and ammonia.

Tien Quang Nguyen My name is Tien Quang Nguyen from Hanoi, Vietnam. Currently, I have been working as a Deputy Head of Department of Thermal Department of Thermal Energy Engineering School of Mechanical Engineering Energy Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, Hanoi Hanoi University of Science and Technology University of Science and Technology (HUST). Besides, I am a No.1 Dai Co Viet Str. researcher at Institute of Heat Engineering and Refrigeration, Hanoi, Vietnam HUST, which is a consultant institute in field of energy, energy transition, industry, etc.
I am writing this letter to express my interest in attending the
Hydrogen & PtX Training program in Spring 2024, scheduled to start from 11th March 2024 to 22nd March 2024. I realize it as a great opportunity to acquire practical experience and knowledge in the development and promotion of experts in organizations. I graduated with a doctor’s degree in Power Engineering from Technical University of Dresden in 2018. I am a very enthusiastic and creative person with a strong passion of energy research.
The main reasons why I want to participate in this training
program is that to accumulate new knowledge about hydrogen energy conversion and hydrogen application in the field of energy conversion in Vietnam and to develop lectures and Documents on hydrogen and ammonia energy conversion for students.
Firstly, I am a lecturer and researcher in the field of energy
technology, energy transition and thermal power plants. My lectures include combustion engineering, biomass conversion, boiler. In the world, Vietnam is a country with a strong commitment to energy transition and emissions reduction. However, our policies on the energy transition have just been developed in initial stages. Researchers and lecturers do not have much knowledge and skills in this period of rapid transition, especially with regard to the massive production and usage of hydrogen and ammonia.
Furthermore, I am an independent expert and I have implemented
a few of German Agency for International Cooperation’s (GIZ) projects on coal fuel conversion for boilers and thermal power
