APARTMENT - BEDROOM - DAY

CAMERA PANNING TO SIDE SLOWLY FROM ALARM CLOCK TO FOCUS ON


MARY.

Opening Credits Rolling

MARY laid in bed, alcohol spread out everywhere as she is


passed out. The alarm clock goes off, as she is forced to
wake up.

SHOT JUST BEHIND MARY, AT 3/4 ANGLE

MARY sits up in bed, getting out of bed to open her cupboard.

SHOT OF MARY'S ROOM, HIGH ANGLE.

MARY opens the cupboard, taking out clothes. Sequence of her


changing by fading into each-other.

MARY walks out of her room.

INT. APARTMENT - KITCHEN - DAY

CAMERA FOLLOWING TO KITCHEN.

CAMERA IS NOW IN FRONT OF MARY AS IT QUICKLY PANS TO THE


COUNTER.

MARY picks up her wallet, but little money is found, she


glances over to her overdue rent papers, but instead decides
to take the money to spend on alcohol.

CAMERA ANGLES TO THE WALLET, AS WE SEE LITTLE MONEY IS IN


THERE.

CAMERA SAT BY COUNTER AS WE HEAR MARY LEAVE THE APARTMENT.

INT. APARTMENT HALLS - DAY

MARY walking down the hall and out towards the stair well.

LOW ANGLE SHOT OF MARY WALKING OUT.

MARY walking down the stairs.

HIGH SHOT OF THE STAIRWELL, CENTRALISED AS MARY WALKS DOWN.

EXT. OUTSIDE APARTMENT BUILDING - DAY

MARY steps out of the building, and starts to walk down the

CENTRALISED FRAMING, FAR STILL SHOT.

EXT. TOWN - DAY

MARY walks into an alley.

CAMERA PANS TOWARDS THE WAY SHE IS WALKING AND INTO THE ALLEY
WALL.

INT. APARTMENT HALLS - DAY

MARY walks back to her apartment door drinking alcohol, and


unlocks it, walking inside, shutting the door behind her.

CAMERA PANS OUT AS A TRANSITION (MASKING)

SHOT NOW PANNING BACK SLOWLY

INT. APARTMENT - KITCHEN - DAY

MARY is sat down on the sofa, as she is scrolling through her


phone while drinking at the same time.

DOWNWARDS ANGLE AT MARY'S FACE AND HER PHONE

MARY scrolls down as she comes across an advert about these


glasses that makes dreams come true, being instinctively
drunk she decided to buy them.

INT. APARTMENT - BEDROOM - DAY

MARY is sat in her bedroom, finishing a can of (any alcohol),


suddenly the doorbell rings and she gets up to go and open
the door.

SHOT AT THE END OF THE BED.

INT. APARTMENT HALLS - DAY

MARY opens the door and picks the box up.

CAMERA IS LOOKING UP AT MARY WHERE THE BOX IS, AS WE SEE HER


WALK INSIDE AND SHUT THE DOOR.

MARY walks to the kitchen with the box in hand, setting it


down and opening it.

FIRST PERSON VIEW OF CARRYING THE BOX.

MARY begins to open the box, inside is the pair of normal


glasses.

She picks them up and stares at them for a moment, before


putting them on.

CAMERA CLOSE UP OF HER FACE HOLDING THE GLASSES.

FIRST PERSON VIEW OF THE LENSES GOING ON THE CAMERA.

MARY's apartment suddenly grows extremely clean and


everything is perfect, her overdue bills are now paid in full
and she has no worries.

MARY
Oh my god...

MARY mutters her words as she is in total shock.

She keeps putting the glasses on, then taking them off.

THE LENSE KEEPS COVERING THE CAMERA, AS THE COLOUR GOES FROM
BLACK AND WHITE TO COLOURFUL, BACK AND FORTH.

MARY is excited and jumpy about these glasses, she runs to


her room and tries the glasses on, when she does, her room is
tidy and suddenly the can she was drinking from became a
person, someone who would love her.

INT. APARTMENT - BEDROOM - DAY

THE BOY waves at Mary, giving her a smile as he was really


friendly.

THE BOY
This is a really cool place you got
Mary! Can we hang out here?

MARY
Yes! Of course.

They both sit on the bed together, talking about their


favourite things. A sequence of different days together of
them in the same room take place.

THE BOY and MARY are sat together, as they are about to
sleep.

MARY
Goodnight.

MARY GOES TO KISS THE BOY.

FIRST PERSON VIEW.

We get to see a shot of her kissing the can of alcohol that


she believes is her boyfriend.

SHOT AT THE END OF THE BED.

MARY goes to sleep, yet she hadn't taken the glasses off.

EXT. PARK - DAY

MARY and THE BOY are exploring the park together, minding
their own business and having a good time. They are sat
together on a bench.

CLOSE UP OF THE TWO TALKING

SHOT CUTS TO A WIDE, FAR SHOT WHERE IT IS JUST MARY TALKING


TO THE CAN.

INT. APARTMENT - BATHROOM

MARY is looking at herself in the mirror, ready to take the


glasses off to see if life got any better on the outside, but
as she did she looked even worse. It looked like her drinking
habits had gotten worse.

MARY rushed out of the kitchen to find she had even more
overdue bills stacked up, and was close to being evicted.

MARY now searches for THE BOY, but just to find an empty can
in her room, but it was a total mess.

She is panicked, as she went back to check her papers from


the first unpaid bill. She notices it was weeks back, and
that these glasses had been tricking her for weeks on end.

MARY grabs her hair stressed as she runs for the glasses and
puts them back on to relieve herself. As she does THE BOY
approaches her.

THE BOY
What's wrong?

MARY
Are you real..?

THE BOY
What?

MARY
I said are you real!?

THE BOY
Of course I am.

However, MARY double checks this theory as once again, she is


just holding a can pretending it to be her boyfriend, and
drops it.

FIRST PERSON VIEW

SLOW MOTION SHOT OF CAN HITTING THE GROUND.

MARY takes the glasses off, as she finds the box they were
once in, and throwing them in the bin, trying to rid of them.

Camera cuts to black, cliffhanger.
