1. Present the Story Problem
Gihatagan ka sa imong mama ug 25 nga baon.
 Nakita nimo nga naay baligya dulaan sa canteen.
Nipalit ka ug pusil pusil nga nag kantidad ug 15.
Pila nalang ang nabilin sa imong baon?

Demonstrate how to subtract 2-digit numbers with regrouping. First

write the numbers in vertical form.

Secondly, identify the one’s place and then the tens place.

Thirdly, show how to regroup the numbers
25 = 20 + 5 = 15 + 10 = 25
- 15 = 10 + 5 - 5 + 10 = 15
10 + 0 = 10
Then, show the way on how to check your answer by adding the
answer to the subtrahend like:
To check: minuend 25 10 difference (answer)
Subtrahend -15 +15 subtrahend
Answer 10 25 minuend

f. Can we subtract 8 from 11? (yes, the answer is 3)
g. Which numbers do we subtract next? (3-2 = 1)

Let the pupils answer the numbers quickly using their show me board.

 We can subtract 1 to 2-digit numbers in two ways;
a. In expanded form – showing where and how to borrow numbers
when the minuends is less than the subtrahend.
