About the FDP

This FDP is dedicated to the Folk forms, the folklores, myths and motifs that are
still relevant in the contemporary world. Most of the folklores covered in the FDP
are in the verge of extinction due to lack of awareness, lack of flux in the art form
and also due to sheer negligence to keep them alive. The sessions will bring about
awareness with a critical approach regarding the rich intangible cultural heritage
we possess as an initiative to resurrect these indigenous knowledge systems
Today, these narratives, if given a chance can very well be relevant and even be
popular at urban homes because India is now moving to the next level, where
people have started looking inwards, they have started recognizing the Indian
consciousness, their heritage and that is how they identify themselves now.

Outcome: After attending this FDP the participants will be able to

1. Have deeper understanding of our Cultural Heritage

2. Deconstruct subaltern narratives from history
3. Understand the lesser known Cults and their marginalized representations in
mainstream media, art and literature
4. Understand how indigenous culture can help us locate the lesser known
knowledge systems
5. Have open prospects of discussion to represent repressed communities
through academic pursuits
6. Understand the iconographies, dissent and preservation of Indigenous
culture.
