ARC 603: Architectural Research Project
360 Hours – 8 Units Load

Research Project Proposal Outline


Instructions: please use the format below for development and submission of
your proposal. All proposals must be submitted on Wednesday, the 13th of
September 2023 in hard and soft copies. Any proposal that does not follow this
prescribed format will not be accepted.

1. Students Details: Name, registration number, etc.

2. Research Topic: State the research topic as discussed in your presentations.

3. Design Project: State design project as discussed in your presentation to be


followed through in Arc 601

4. Supervisor: Indicate Supervisor’s name as allocated by the Year Master.

5. Brief Explanation of the Study: Write, as simply and as clearly as possible,


what the study is about (max half page)

6. Objectives of the Study: List a maximum of three objectives of the study.

7. Research Questions: List a maximum of three research questions the study


will be seeking to answer.

8. List of Key References: Provide at least 6 key references. These must be peer
reviewed journal articles or books.

9. International Precedents: Give a brief explanation of three (3) international


precedents that the research will be drawing from (1 page including pictures).

10. Local Case Studies: Give a maximum of three (3) cases locally that will be
studied in depth to answer the research questions (maximum of two pages
including pictures).
11. Outline of Methods: How do you intend to undertake the study? Give a brief
explanation how you intend to go about the research (maximum of 2 pages).
Cover at least the following issues:
• Data type: What type of data will you be collecting?
• Data collection approach: How will you collect this data?
• Data analysis approach: How will you analyse the data.
