Ladyhawke sadly must lose her first track and it's none other than the lead single
of Time Flies, Guilty Love that also features Georgia Nott, vocalist of
fellow Kiwi band Broods. Starting in comfortable mid-tier position at the start,
Guilty Love quickly fell off into 60-70 rank and stay there until the end.
I'm always fascinated by Ladyhawke. The way she just doesn't exude the ambition or
particular popstar imagery that gay men loves, always looking awkward with fashion
sense that seems stuck in indie sleaze era. Ff and she still manage to capture
attention from small section of faguettes, I live ! I guess that's the power of 80s
influenced synthpop for ya.

Guilty Love sounds like a revisit into early Ladyhawke, with its strong indie-rock
sensibilty and 80s influence. The chorus is ultra catchy and easy to stick, though
the chord progression always reminds me of Elle King's Ex's and Oh's. Like you can
literally sing that chorus on top of Guilty Love's chorus.

Some may saw Guilty Love as Ladyhawke at stagnation, utilizing the same formula
that miss Pip has been rocking on since forever. But to some, maybe the little
angst in Guilty Love could be a cute throwback moment to the younger days.

@DJHazey (10) "A retro-sounding Kiwi Power-Play from two beasts of indie pop. Love
how they could have recorded this at the tail end of the hippie era and gotten away
with it."

@BubblegumBoy (8.5) "Wish the chorus was better produced on this, it sounds demo
like"

@unnameable (7.5) "Good, but the rockier sound is less good for Ladyhawke than the
synthwave sound"

@spaceship (9) "The cadence and tone of the song is so interesting. It sound new
and old simultaneously."

@Trouble In Paradise (5.5) "Wildly underwhelming given how much I love these "

@berserkboi (9) "Lesser than the rest is still pretty stellar for Pip"
