PARTS OF BUSINESS PLAN

I. Executive Summary

 The executive summary is Part I of the business plan and it is the most important. It highlights the
business name, location, product or service to be sold, purpose, and projected sales and profits.

 This section tells your readers where your business plan is and where you want to take it. It is also your
way to grab their interest and keep them reading or make them bored. More than anything else, it
shows the success of your business idea.

 The executive summary should be the last section to do with not more than four pages in length.

 The purpose of the executive summary of the business plan is to provide your readers with an overview
of the business plan. Think of it as an introduction to your business.

 Executive summary is the Part I of the business but it is the last part of the plan to be made.

II. THE OVERVIEW OF THE BUSINESS


A. Name of the Business- the business name itself
B. Description of the Business Model- The description of the vital details and the uniqueness of
your business, such as where you are located, how large the business is, what you do, and what
you hope to accomplish.
C. Statement of Vision, Mission, and Values- it tells how the organization/business would achieve
all its strategic goals, what would it look like 10 years from now? And the sets of standards that
actions can be assessed against the organization’s beliefs and how it will behave.

III. THE BUSINESS PLAN

 The Needs
A. Description of the exact problem/need addressed
B. Reasons/rationale why the problem/ need must be addressed by the business
C. Descriptions of how the business has solved the problem /need

IV. VISION, MISSION, AND VALUES

 Vision-Description/statement of what the proponent sees if the problem/need is solved


 Mission- Clear description of goals and objectives that present practical steps to achieve the vision
 Values- Clear statement of values critical to the cultural integrity and activities of the business.
V. MARKET PROFILE
 Research and Analysis
1. Description of the Target Market
2. Market Size
3. Competition/Market Share
4. Market Trends

 Marketing Plan
1. How the product/service be introduced in the market?
2. How will the customers be reached and served?
3. How will the investors be served?
4. Description of the business ownership, and roles of the partners.
5. Value-Added Features
6. Location of the business

 Product Description- Detailed description of products/services


 Operating Strategies-
1. Description/Illustration of the production model
2. A detailed description of raw material, suppliers, transportation needed, and how these will be
accessed.
3. Details/data presented on how the products/services will be further developed and the help
needed and the agency or company who can do it
 Critical Risk
a. Data on existing competitors
b. Statement on how the proposed business is different from the others
c. Description/Illustration of the proposed business' competitive strategy
d. Partners are identified, their roles, and added value to maximize impact.
e. A detailed description of the risks and opportunities (SWOT Analysis)
f. The description of how the business would capitalize to prevent the risks.
