IDENTIFICATION The type number plate is located on the left hand side, near to the mains fuses F1 and F2. 5. COMPATIBILITY The MAINS CONTROL UNIT is designed to be compatible with: + a MOBILE VIEWING STATION of a BV25 Gold, BV300 Series * an EASYGUIDE System. NOTE For further instructions refer to SECTION 2 and 3 of this Manual or to the Installation section of the Installation System manual, 6. TECHNICAL DATA 6.1. INTRODUCTION The MAINS CONTROL UNIT is the interface between the mains and the system and allows connection of the system to different mains supplies. It has an isolating transformer suitable for use in medical equipment to Separate the system from the mains. The unit delivers output voltages to the Mobile Viewing Station (MVS) and the Stand. 6.2 DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT Dimensions: 975 x 470 x 140 (IXwxh) Weight 280N 6.3. Output Voltages: 28, 125, 230, 600 V AC , 24 VDC Mains Resistance: 100V 0.1 Ohm (max) 120-130 V 0,12 Ohm (max.) 200-240 V 0,6 Ohm (max) 6.4. EXPLANATION OF OPERATION ‘The MCU can be switched on and off using the ON-OFF-Circuits of the system or by using the On/Off Switches on the Switch on/off board, Relay WA-K1 becomes active when the MCU is switched on. The mains current runs through the damping resistors WA-At - WA-RS for about 120 ms, allowing a ‘soft’ tum on of the system without damaging the mains fuses WA-F1 and WA-F2. The WA1-K10 relay on the PCB will then become active, which ture the parallel lying thyristor WA-Tht on. Depending on the connection of the stand, the relays WA-K2 and/or WA-KG will then be switched on, If a power failure (voltage loss of the mains) occurs, the thyristor will be switched off and the current will un through the damping resistors again. This prevents the fuses from blowing when the power comes back on, Pressing any Off button (on the MCU or the mobile viewing station) switches the relays WA-K1 to WA-K3 off See Section 6.3. Pressing the Stand-off button switches WA-K3 off. Disconnecting the stand while the MCU is on, turns relay WA-K3 off. This switches off the 230V and 600V voltage on the Stand-Trolley cable. Connecting an BV300 plus stand will cause the MCU to serve 230V for battery-loading to the stand as soon as the system is connected to the mains suppl It the damping resistors WA-R1 - WA-RS get to hot (+ 10°C ) the thermal switch WA-F8 will power off the whole unit. The MCU will go in Error-Mode-> WAM-H3 will ight. It can only be switched on again if: 1. the resistors have cooled down and 2. the MCU has been disconnected from the mains for about 20 - 30 secs. 4 (98.1) UNIVERSAL MCU.
