 For small heart: Katia "Capri", 50g/125m, (alternative: Phildar "Coton 3",
Schachenmayr "Catania" or LanaGrossa "Cotone"), in any color (for example: purple,
pink, or others) and crochet hook no. 3 (EU-size) or no. 11 (US-size)

 For big heart: Yarn and Colors "Epic" 100% cotton, run length: approx. 75m / 50g
and crochet hook no. 5 (EU-size) or no. 6 (US-size)

 Fiberfill

 Tools: thick needle, scissors, 4 x stitch markers

sc – single crochet  Sale, exchange, reproduction and

ch- crochet chain publication (including on the Internet) of
fch = foundation chain the manual is prohibited

Note for the sc in „knit stitch“: This heart is crocheted with the sc in knit stitch (vertical course).
Crochet with the sc in the knit stitch requires a little practice. Before you start crocheting, practice
crocheting with an old thick wool (wool scraps). After a few practices, crocheting with the sc in the knit
stitch will work out very quickly. Otherwise: crochet very loosely and if the loose crocheting doesn't
work, take the crochet hook about 0.5 size larger than recommended for your wool. How to crochet
with sc in knit stitch, I have shown in this video: https://youtu.be/mdaAr4qYlxQ

1 decrease = 2 sc crochet together, stitching into the middle of the sc of the previous round (= knit
stitch). Or from the 3rd round of the lower part, when crocheting the decrease, stitch into the middle
of the decrease of the previous round and the middle of the next sc or the other way around.

1 increase = 2 sc in knit stitch into the middle of the next sc.

Important! The whole heart is crocheted in rounds. Crochet in so-called "continuous rounds". This
means that the round is not closed and after one round the other is crocheted directly.

The upper part of the heart consists of two parts. The two parts are crocheted separately, and then
continue crocheting as one part (lower part).

With crochet hook No. 3 and color of your

choice:

Cast on 5 ch.

Rnd 1: 1 sc into the second ch of the fch from

the crochet hook, 2 sc into the next 2 ch of
the fch, 2 sc into the next ch of the fch,

3 sc in the next 3 ch of the fch from the

bottom (total of 8 meshes).

Rnd 2: 1 inc in the first sc of the previous

round, 2 sc in knit stitch in the next 2 sc of
the previous round, 2 inc in the next 2 sc of
the previous round,

2 sc in knit stitch in next 2 sc of previous

round, 1 inc in last sc of previous round (12
meshes total).

Rnd 3: 1 inc in the first sc of the previous

round, 4 sc in knit stitch in the next 4 sc of
the previous round, 2 inc in the next 2 sc of
the previous round,

4 sc in knit stitch in next 4 sc of previous

round, 1 inc in last sc of previous round (16
meshes total).

Rnd 4-5: crochet 16 sc in knit stitch into the

next 16 sc of the previous round.

Close the 5th round with a sl st.

Cut and fasten thread after crocheting the

first upper part.

Crochet a second upper part in the same

way. Do not close the round. Do not cut the
thread.

Place the parts next to each other. The

thread of the second upper part is now in the
middle sideways, so that we can directly
connect the parts.

In the 1st round, the upper parts are

connected.

I start to recount the rounds.

Rnd 1: make 1 dec, knitting the first sc into

the next sc of the second upper part and the
second sc into the first sc of the first upper
part.

15 sc in knit stitch into the next 15 sc of the

first upper part,

Make 1 dec, inserting the 2 sc of the dec in

the knit stitch in the same sc as when
crocheting the first decrease of this round.

Tip: Otherwise you can stitch the first sc of

the dec into the next sc of the first upper part
(see video).

15 sc in knit stitch into the next 15 sc of the

second top piece.

The two parts are now thus connected (a

total of 32 meshes).

Use the two mesh markers to mark the

respective middle two meshes right and left.

Rnd 2: skip the first decrease of the previous

round, crochet sc in knit stitch to the first
two stitch markers (for me this is 6 sc),

crochet 1 dec in the 2 marked sc of the

previous round, transfer a stitch marker to
this dec,

Crochet sc in knit stitch to the other two

stitch markers in the center from the other
side, skipping the second decrease of the
previous round (for me this is 14 sc),

crochet 1 dec into the 2 marked sc of the

previous round, transfer one stitch marker
to this dec,

crochet sc in knit stitch into the next sc of the

previous round until the end of the round
(for me this is 6 sc), (total 28 meshes).

Crochet 1 dec in the middle of the first

marked decrease and in the middle of the

second stitch marker (for me this is 12 sc),

crochet 1 dec into the middle of the next sc

and into the middle of the second marked
decrease of the previous round, transfer the
stitch marker to this dec,

crochet sc in knit stitch into next sc of

previous round until end of round (for me
this is 6 sc), (total 26 meshes).

Rnd 4: crochet sc in knit stitch until 1 sc
remains to the first stitch marker (for me
this is 5 sc),

crochet 1 dec to the middle of the next sc and

to the middle of the second marked decrease
of the previous round, transfer the stitch
marker to this dec,

crochet sc in knit stitch to second stitch

marker (for me this is 12 sc),

Crochet 1 dec in the middle of the first marked dec and in the middle of the next sc of the previous
round, transfer the stitch marker to this dec,

crochet sc in knit stitch in the next sc of the previous round until the end of the round (for me this is 5
sc) (total 24 meshes).

Tip: Sew the hole, which was created after

joining two pieces, from the back side (see
video).

Repeat the 3rd and 4th rounds alternately

until the 13th round. Start stuffing the heart
with fiberfill after the 8th round and
continue after each round.

After each repetition of the 3rd, or 4th

round, the total number of meshes will
decrease by 2 meshes each time.

Cut the thread and fasten, leaving a long

thread.

Weave this thread with the help of sewing

needle through the front half meshes of the
13th round of the heart and close the
opening by pulling and sew together. Stretch
the thread inside the heart.
