ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

First and foremost, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all people who supported and

assisted me in completing my On-the-Job Training in EU Wing Asia.

To my family, I want to give an overwhelming thanks to my beloved parents and siblings,

who have always supported me and inspired me to always make the best of every situation. I want

to thank them from the bottom of my heart for their unconditional love, financial support, trust, and

care for me.

My deepest thanks to our OJT coordinator and instructor, Engr. Augustine E. Buenaventura

and Engr. Jayson U. Baga, for guiding and providing the necessary documents for our application as

trainees. They worked hard to provide us a pre-internship orientation prior to deployment to

internship sites which includes the proper work ethics and etiquettes, and the duties and

responsibilities of student trainees while doing the OJT program.

I wish to extend my deepest gratitude and appreciation to the EU Wings Asia for their

gracious hospitality and exceptional on-the-job training experience which will be very helpful to me

in the future. To every employee of the EU Wings Asia, I want to express my heartfelt thanks for

their assistance in helping me expand my knowledge and skills in the field of aviation engineering

and maintenance.

And lastly, to our almighty God, thank you for giving me wisdom and courage, for all graces

and blessings, and for the guidance and good health I have experienced throughout my life.

INTRODUCTION

On-the-Job Training (OJT) is one method to allow students the chance to apply the concepts,

theories, and computations that they have learned from their respective colleges and universities. By

using their skills and expertise in a real-world setting, students get valuable knowledge and

experience working in the field of their chosen specialization or career. As part of the curriculum,

colleges and universities require their students to complete such training in a specified amount of

time.

For the students, an OJT or internship program provides opportunities to explore and apply

the actual methodologies of a specific profession utilizing the real tools, equipment, and

documentation. As a result, the workplace serves as a location for student trainees to further their

knowledge in the subject they have chosen and put what they have learned in school into reality.

For the company or organization who willingly accept a student trainee, the OJT program

provides them additional manpower at a lower cost than regular employees or even without

expecting a salary to pay back. The employers can also utilize this internship model as a means of

recruiting new employees by evaluating the trainees' progress based on their performance, behavior,

and attitude. Additionally, student trainees can provide new ideas, and if given the chance to speak

freely, they can even be able to make a substantial contribution to meetings that will increase the

company's productivity.

During the OJT program, employees or supervisors assigned to educate the trainees does not

only guide the trainees through tasks and procedures on how to do their jobs but also improve their

patience, flexibility, teaching abilities, and understanding on the mindset of the younger generation.

They can also learn how to convey their expertise and be open to inquiries during the course of

supervision. Due to this, the internship also serves as a tool of management training for the

company's future leaders.

Furthermore, the OJT program enables students to acquire vital work skills, technical

abilities, job appreciation, soft skills, and values of professionalism that are relevant in the industry.

In this case, the aeronautical engineering students of Philippine State College of Aeronautics were

assigned to have their internship program in their preferred Host Training Establishments (HTE) in

order to supplement their formal learning with practical knowledge, skills, and desirable attitudes as

well as to gain hands on experience in the aviation field.
