Summary
In this sketch, students see three teenagers (Jameel, Kate and Anna) having lunch in a fast food restaurant
with an unusual theme.

Before you watch Scene 1

1 Make sure students understand the meaning of
the words in the box. Then ask them to complete
the sections on the menu with the words.

2 Ask students to ask and answer the questions
in pairs. Alternatively, ask the questions to the
whole class and elicit their answers.

3 Tell students they are going to watch a sketch in
which three friends go out for lunch together.
Ask students to look carefully at the screen
shots from the sketch and number them in the
order they think they happen.
4 Ask students why they think the three friends
go to a café for lunch.
6 Check students understand the sentences. Then
play Scene 1 and ask students to decide if they
are T (true) or F (false). After playing Scene 1,
ask them to correct the false sentences.

7 Ask students to complete the expressions with
the words in the box. Play Scene 1 again so
they can listen and check their answers. Make

14 Explain the task and go through the ingredients
in the boxes making sure students understand
all the words. Then ask students to invent four
new pizzas (names and ingredients). Tell them to
write the names and ingredients on their menu.
15 Divide the class into groups of A, B and C
students. Explain the task and make sure they
understand who they are, the details they
can use, and the language in their Language
banks. In groups, students write their dialogue
together. Give help when necessary.
16 Ask students to practise speaking their dialogue
out loud. Encourage them to add actions, too.
Ask some students to act out their dialogue in
front of the class.
