 Definition
Descriptive text is a text that
explains or describes people,
animals or objects in terms of
their shape, characteri to describe
and reveal a particular person,
place, thing.
 Generic stucture
Identification is an introduction, in the
form of a general description of a topic.

Description contains the special characteristics

of the object, place or person being described.
For example, characteristics, physical
appearance, and other things that are written
specifically.

Adjective is are generally used to describe nouns.

Simple present tense is a verb form used to refer to an action or series of actions that were
completed in the past.

Adverb of frequency is describes how often an action happens. There are six main adverbs of
frequency that we use in English: always, usually (or normally), often, sometimes, rarely, and
never.

Types of descriptive text
Based on the content of the text, descriptive text is further divided into several
types. The following are the types of descriptive text.

1. Subjective description: subjective description text is descriptive text that describes

an object based on the author's impression.
2. Spatial Description: spatial description text is descriptive text that only describes
objects such as places, rooms or objects.
3. Objective description: objective description text is descriptive text that describes
objects according to their actual situation, so that readers can imagine the situation
without any additional opinions from the author.
4. Imaginative description: imaginative description text is text that contains a picture
or painting of a place where an event takes place. The description must be seen
from various angles so that the place can be clearly depicted in both the reader's
mind and feelings.
5. Factual description: factual descriptive text is descriptive text that describes an
object, whether halal or person, by revealing its identity as it is, so that the reader
can imagine the true situation.
 Example of decriptive text
Italy has some famous cities. One of them is Rome. It is a very
historic city. If you visit Rome, you will have plenty of chances to see
all kinds of great sights. Rome can be traced through its mythology
when it was founded on. It was said that the twins, Romulus and
Remus, founded the city in 753 BC, on the 21st of April. This
corresponds closely to archeological evidence, which shows
farming communities in the area. As the Catholic Church grew,
Rome became more and more important in both religion and
politics.
