(Continuation for August 29 – September1, 2023)
Objectives:
a.) Recall the basic information of fractions
b.) Identify fractions in our daily life
c.) Add and Subtract Fractions and Mixed Numbers

Subject Matter:
Addition and Subtraction of Simple Fractions and Mixed Numbers

Learning Materials:
a.) Math Book: “Enjoying Life with Mathematics 6” by Natividad A. Del Prado
b.) PPt Presentation
c.) Chalk, White Board Marker, and Board
Presentation:
a.) Checking of Attendance
b.) Motivation
c.) Review on Fractions, Parts, Kinds, and its properties, lowest term
d.) Lesson Proper:
In Adding or Subtracting Similar Fractions, add or subtract the numerators, then
copy the common denominator. For final answer, it should be in lowest term.

In Adding or Subtracting Dissimilar Fraction, Change them to Similar Fractions

first through;
1.) get the LCD,
2.) dividing the new denominator to the first denominator,
3.) then multiply the quotient to the first numerator.
4.) Write the product as the new numerator.
Do the process on both terms, before performing the operation.
Final should be in lowest term.

In Adding or Subtracting Mixed Numbers with Similar Fractions, Add or Subtract

the Whole Numbers then perform the operation on fractional parts. Final answers
should be in lowest term.

In Adding or Subtracting Mixed Numbers with Dissimilar Fractions, transform

first the mixed numbers into improper fractions, then perform the process to make
them similar fractions before doing the operation. Final answers should always be
in lowest term.
