RE: REQUEST FOR CONSIDERATION DUE TO MEDICAL EMERGENCY:

I hope this letter finds you well . I am writing to inform you about a recent and unfortunate incident
that has had a significant impact on my life as a student enrolled in the pre-clinical programs at
Makerere University, College of health sciences. My name is Nassiwa Deborah Jackline, doing a
Bachelors of science in nursing and I hold the student ID 22/U/20559/PS.

On 21st sept, 2023, I was involved in an unfortunate road accident that resulted in a posterior and
lateral fracture of the malleolus, affecting 25% of the articular surface. This unexpected event has
left me in a challenging situation both physically and academically.

The medical diagnosis I received recommends a procedure known as open reduction and internal
fixation of the fracture to restore the function and stability of my ankle joint. This procedure is
essential for my long-term health and mobility, and I’ll soon be given the scheduled date for the
operation.

While I am committed to my studies and have been working diligently to excel in my program, this
unexpected accident and the subsequent surgery will undoubtedly impact my ability to attend
classes and participate fully in academic activities for a certain period of time. I understand the
importance of maintaining a high level of academic performance, and I am dedicated to making up
for any missed coursework or assignments.
