SERVICE
Cameron Compression Systems maintains a large staff of qualified service representatives
listed on the “Aftermarket Services Offices”. Service representatives, special tools,
diagnostic equipment as well as technical field service, design and engineering capabilities are
available to you when problems arise. Contact your local service representative because he is
familiar with your equipment.
Our desire is to keep your equipment operating effectively and efficiently throughout its long
life.
REPLACEMENT PARTS
A large inventory of consumable and insurance parts for your Cameron Compression
Systems equipment is available throughout the world. Parts and service are available from
locations listed on the “Aftermarket Services Offices”. If one location is out of stock, we
can search our entire $100MM inventory to find the part you need. A computer generated
parts forecasting system helps to keep the correct part on the shelf at the right location.
A production list of parts that make up each new unit sold with recorded changes and/or
improvements is maintained. This enables us to provide you with parts which are
interchangeable and which incorporate product improvements subsequent to production of
your unit.
Our policy is to provide replacement parts to the highest design standards as developed by
our engineering people. Any special customer designated requirements (e.g. special material
tests, documentation, non-standard quality control procedures, etc.) must be clearly defined
by the customer in each quotation request and order for replacement parts. This is necessary
even if such conditions were a condition of the original purchase order. In the absence of
such explicit customer requirements with each parts order, CCS’s standard replacement parts
with be furnished.
If your needs are for one item or for a complete engine overhaul, including labor, you can
best be served by working with people in the Aftermarket Services Office nearest you. They
are most familiar with your parts problem and will help in any way. Some parts of a unit are
needed so rarely that stocking is not practical and will have to be manufactured when
ordered. Parts we obtain from vendors are made to our specifications and are subject to our
inspection. Our research facilities are devoted to specifying the best possible item for the
operation of the equipment we sell and we are not responsible for troubles if other products
are used. Always buy your replacement parts from Cameron Compression Systems.
PARTS LIST
Replacement parts may be procured by identifying the part(s) on the “Parts Index Table of
Contents” which lists all the assembly drawings in numerical sequence and placing an order
through the nearest Cameron Aftermarket Services Office.
The “Parts Index Table of Contents” shows the number of sheets for each assembly
drawing. Note that in some instances, a brief description of the assembly is indicated under
Drawing Title heading and in some cases the part number of the main part is listed.
After identifying the correct assembly drawing, turn to the assembly drawing in the manual.
Note that individual parts are listed on the drawing. When ordering parts, indicate:
1. Quantity
2. Drawing Number
3. Part number, if different from the assembly drawing number.
Some assembly drawings contain several columns from which to choose. The proper
column is indicated on the “Parts Index Table of Contents”. Some drawings contain
“tabled” items showing a multiple choice of part numbers. The proper choice is shown on
the “Parts Index Table of Contents”.
To insure shipment of the proper material, always list the serial number of the equipment
(engine, compressor cylinder, or frame, etc.) for which the parts are needed. This
information, along with name, drawing number, part number and quantity, will avoid delays
in filling orders.
If at any time, you have a problem interpreting the correct part number desired, contact the
nearest Cameron Compression Systems Office.
Turbochargers, when furnished, are listed separately and the Parts List Index, Assembly
Drawings, and Turbocharger manual are located under a separate tab which will be noted in
the table of contents.
EXAMPLE:
This is an example explaining how to use the “Parts Index Table of Contents” (PITC), and
the assembly drawings, when ordering replacement parts.
1. Locate the proper drawing. In this example, we have shown Power Cylinder,
drawing number GMXA-2.
2. Note in the Bill of Material (upper right corner of drawing) columns “A” and
“B” are shown. The “Parts Index Table of Contents” (PITC) specifies that
column “A” is the correct column for the application. Information in Column
“B” will not be used.
3. On the particular drawing there are four columns shown for column “A”. Select
the correct column for the size of the equipment (4 Cylinder, 6 Cylinder, 8
Cylinder, etc). The other columns do not apply.
4. Information for ordering all items, except items 1,2,11, and 20 can be read
directly from the Bill of Material. Part numbers for these for items are shown in
separate “tables” elsewhere on the drawing. To identify the correct choice for
parts listed in “tables” refer to the “Parts Index Table of Contents”(PITC). It is
not necessary to make the choice of part numbers directly from “tables”
on the drawing. To do so may cause incorrect part numbers to be
ordered.
Always refer back to the “Parts Index Table of Contents” for correct part number
identification when choices of parts are shown in “tables”.
