But the old saying is that the interest of tourists in visiting museums in Bandung City is very
low [2]. This is caused by a lack of promotion from the museum management and a lack of
tourist knowledge about the existence of museums in the city of Bandung [3]. However,
research also shows that after being informed about the existence of the museum, tourists'
interest in visiting the museum increases [3].

Maria, Tania & Lemy, Diena. (2018). The Local Tourist Interest on Museum: A Study in Bandung,
West Java.
The quality of service at the Bandung City Museum is perceived to be average by visitors.
According to a study conducted at the museum, the perception mean scores for service
quality were 3.61, which falls under the average criteria [5]. However, there are areas of
improvement identified by visitors, including the responsiveness of staff, communication
aspects related to information for visitors, consumables, and empathy [5]. Overall, while
there is room for improvement, the visitors' overall satisfaction and behavioural intentions
were still high [5].

Meanwhile the perception mean scores is 3.61 can be classified as average criteria.
However, two dimensions of museum performance categorised as high by the respondent
are responsiveness and tangibles dimensions. The major weaknesses are represented with
three dimensions of service : the responsiveness of the staff, communication aspect related
to information for the visitors, consumables and empathy. Although most of the items in
perceived service qualities is in average, the mean score in overall satisfaction and
behavioural intensions of the visitor were still high. These indicate some improvement need
to be addressed by the management of Museum Kota Bandung to improve their service
quality. This study hopefully can contribute to study in investigating museum as tourist
destination and specifically study in museum service quality.
