CopperPoint donates to Future Forward Foundation’s “Seed the Future” program

With the help of our Agency Partners Kiva Insurance, CopperPoint donated $2,500 to Future Forward
Foundation in December.

The donation helps sponsor Future Forward Foundation’s “Seed the Future” program, an initiative that
helps feed the homeless by providing Arizona residents with the tools, education and resources needed
to grow and harvest their own gardens. Thirty percent of each garden’s seasonal harvest is donated back
to Future Forward Foundation and used to feed the homeless.

“Future Forward Foundation’s mission of ‘Caring for our Neighbors’ aligned perfectly with our
CopperPoint’s giving initiative and desire to engage within our communities,” Marsha Brown, Vice
President Business Development and Distribution, said. “It really spoke to our own values of community
engagement and it truly made a difference.”

The program addresses the problems of food insecurity, poor diets and sustainable vegetable production
among the homeless population in rural areas. Due to the “food desert” climate of Pinal County, average
residents typically travel over 10 miles to obtain fresh produce. For lower income residents, who can't
drive or find regular rides, this means relying on gas stations and convenience stores for nutrition.

Today, more than 10 gardens have been planted, totaling 24 acres of production fields in four locations
around Pinal County.

We are proud to support Future Forward Foundation, as the nonprofit shares CopperPoint’s same values
of bettering our local communities together.
